Congratulations are in order for Hailie Scott Mathers, the only begotten child of Eminem (née Marshall Mathers) and his once-estranged ex-wife Kimberly Scott (tho Em has also adopted Kim’s other daughter from another relationship Whitney and Kim’s sister’s daughter Alaina) because over the weekend she was crowned Homecoming Queen at Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township, MI. You may recall that Hailie kinda sorta went off on Taylor Swift on Twitter last December but it appears that the young girl has grown up a bit since then. Read on to learn more deets about Eminem’s daughter’s big night this weekend.
Rap superstar Eminem reportedly was on hand to see his daughter named homecoming queen of Chippewa Valley High School on Friday night but stayed out of the public view, according to parents who were at the proceedings. Hailie Scott was voted homecoming queen and Tyler Knepp, a self-described nerd who loves Star Trek, was named homecoming king as the Big Reds defeated Anchor Bay High School at Chippewa Valley’s stadium in Clinton Township. “Hailie came out with her mother Kim (Scott) when she was introduced with all the other kids but her father watched from inside the school because he didn’t want to cause a scene — he wanted Hailie to have her own moment,” said one parent who asked not to be identified. Several parents said Eminem — Detroit-born and Macomb County-raised Marshall Mathers — wanted to watch the football game and homecoming proceedings from a classroom inside of the high school on 19 Mile Road at Romeo Plank Road. “I heard our people had him in the cafeteria so he could see what was going on outside, but I can’t confirm that,” said George Sobah, president of the Chippewa Valley Board of Education. One parent said Eminem was beaming with pride even though he was keeping out of sight. “He opened the door and looked out like – ‘That’s my daughter!’ He just looked like a proud father,” the parent said. During the homecoming parade, Hailie rode in a convertible driven by Clinton Township philanthropist Jim George, a neighbor … “Huge congrats for Hailie Scott and Tyler Knepp winning hc queen and king!” Megan Luther said in a tweet. “You guys are beautiful and I’m so happy for you!” Hailie Scott, 17, a senior at Chippewa Valley, was voted queen by the student body and faculty members. Parents of students who are friends with her describe her as a smart, athletic, and caring young woman. She has attended Chippewa Valley Schools from the start of her academic career beginning at Cherokee Elementary School. “I think all of the kids in the district have shown respect to their family and just let her live a normal life here out of the spotlight,” one parent said. “I think that speaks very highly of the Chippewa Valley community to not try to take advantage of their fame.”
OMG, this is the cutest thing ever! Firstly, I cannot believe that Eminem’s baby girl is already grown enough to be a Homecoming Queen. When did that happen? Second, I’m quite certain that Hailie was thrilled that her dad could be there in person to see her crowned queen. I’m also quite certain that she was happy that he stayed inside, out of sight, so that all eyes could be on her … and not him. This is a really great story to start out the week. Let’s send our congrats to Hailie today as she starts her new reign as Homecoming Queen of her school :D
