A few days ago we heard rumors about the possibility of Lindsay Lohan coming back to host the upcoming season premiere of Saturday Night Live. Although we still don’t have confirmation on that report, we have learned that another somewhat controversial figure is headed to the SNL stage. Lady Gaga has performed on the sketch comedy series twice before, but is now gearing up to make her hosting debut in the new season. We know she does artsy, but can Gaga get legitimately funny for a live audience??? Click inside for more!
E! has the story:
Lady Gaga lives for the live applause!
The pop star is set to return to Saturday Night Live for the third time this fall, but for the first time she’ll be pulling double duty as musical guest and host, TVLine reports. Yes, that’s right: Mother Monster would be showing off her comedic chops along with her singing and dancing skills when the long-running NBC sketch show returns for its 39th season. We give this news two paws up!
Gaga served as the musical guest in 2009 and 2011 and appeared in sketches alongside respective hosts Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake. NBC had no comment on Gaga’s potential hosting debut.
During Gaga’s 2011 appearance, she acted alongside Timberlake and Andy Samberg in a hilarious digital short featuring a follow-up song (“3-Way (The Golden Rule)”) to their now infamous “D–k in a Box” skit…
Gaga’s SNL hosting debut will be part of her promotional push for her highly anticipated new album Artpop, which will be released on Nov. 11. Saturday Night Live returns for its 39th season on Sunday, Sept. 28 on NBC.
Last season I had a lot of fun watching the sketches from Saturday Night Live. They weren’t all amazing-hilarious, but it was still a good time, so I’m looking forward to seeing what’s gonna pop off this season.
As far as Gaga hosting? Mmmhhhh I don’t know. She strikes me as a lot of things, but I’ve never considered her to be funny. Although, I’d like to think someone who rocks a bubble-machine dress has to have a sense of humor. I guess we’ll find out soon enough!
What do you guys think of Lady G as a host on SNL? Will you be tuning in for this episode?
