October is quickly approaching and as we get closer to the premiere of Scandal’s third season we’re getting these awesome little tidbits about the upcoming drama series. A little while back a new promo poster was revealed, and we’ve also seen members of the cast getting back to work on the set. And now, for some pretty exciting casting news: Lisa Kudrow– best known for her role as Phoebe on Friends– is joining the cast of Scandal!!! How insane is that? Click inside for more!
Deadline has the deets:
A Friend-ly gladiator is joining the gang on Shonda Rhimes’ hot Washington DC drama Scandal. Friends alumna Lisa Kudrow has been tapped for a recurring role on the ABC series’ upcoming third season. In typical Shonda fashion, details about Kudrow’s character are kept under wraps, but I’ve learned that she plays a politician. On the Kerry Washington-starring drama, Kudrow is joining her long-time producing partner Dan Bucatinsky, who received an Emmy nomination for his recurring role as Cyrus’ (Jeff Perry) long-suffering husband. This marks Kudrow’s biggest series acting commitment in a long time. Since the end of Friends and her follow-up series, the cult HBO comedy The Comeback, Kudrow has been focused on producing as well as her online-turned-TV improv show Web Therapy.
Gahhhh! I cannot! Who is Lisa gonna be playing?! I can honestly see her playing a lot of roles. New Gladiator? Olivia Pope looked like she could use some help at the end of last season… will she be Olivia’s crisis manager? As in, Olivia Pope’s Olivia Pope?! LOL. No, seriously. When does season 3 start?! For reals.
Hilariously enough, the season starts October 3rd, 4 days before my due date. AKA nobody call me that week at all ’cause I’m gonna be insanely busy… possibly writing that first recap from the Labor & Delivery unity of Nyack Hospital. LMAO! Can’t wait!!!
