Meet The Cast Of ‘Survivor: Blood Vs. Water’

Which is Thicker?

A new season of Survivor is nearly upon us and to get us excited for the show’s return, CBS has unveiled today the cast of the forthcoming 27th season titled Survivor: Blood vs. Water. This time around, the players will be competing against their very own loved ones. That’s right … former Survivors are competing this season alongside a loved one they brought along with them … which means, eventually, some players may have to vote off their loved ones. Brilliant. Click below to see the first official cast photo of Survivor: Blood vs. Water and learn more about the changes that will be in play for the coming season.

Returning “favorites” (including, yes, Rupert) — will compete with loved ones (among them, a Big Brother champ) when CBS’ Survivor premieres its 27th edition, Blood Vs. Water … Among the twists on tap for the new season:

* The competition will actually start at nighttime, as each returning player and their loved one is stranded at a spot in the dark jungle.
* Almost straight away, each tribe will be forced to vote someone off. Those castoffs will be sent to Redemption Island — though their loved one has the option of taking their place. The first casualty of tribal council will engage in a three-way contest with the Redemption Island pair to decide whose torch gets snuffed and which two reclaim their buff. (Just prior to that duel, active players again have a chance to sub for their loved one.)
* The winner of each Redemption Island contest returns to camp with a clue about the Immunity Idol’s location — then must decide with whom to share it.

Here is a list of the players pictured above:

RETURNING PLAYER: Tyson Apostol (Tocantins, Heroes Vs. Villains)
LOVED ONE: Rachel (girlfriend)

RETURNING PLAYER: Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands, All-Stars, Heroes Vs. Villains)
LOVED ONE: Laura (wife)

RETURNING PLAYER: Aras Baskauskas (Panama–Exile Island)
LOVED ONE: Vytas (brother)

RETURNING PLAYER: Gervase Peterson (Borneo)
LOVED ONE: Marissa (niece)

RETURNING PLAYER: Kat Edorsson (One World)
LOVED ONE: Hayden (boyfriend and Big Brother 12 winner)

RETURNING PLAYER: Candice Cody (Cook Islands, Heroes Vs. Villains)
LOVED ONE: John (husband)

RETURNING PLAYER: Laura Morett (Samoa)
LOVED ONE: Clera (daughter)

RETURNING PLAYER: Monica Culpepper (One World)
LOVED ONE: Brad (husband)

RETURNING PLAYER: Colton Cumbie (One World)
LOVED ONE: Caleb (fiance)

RETURNING PLAYER: Tina Wesson (Australian Outback, All-Stars)
LOVED ONE: Katie (daughter)

Dang, the twist this season is cold as ice … and I am TOTALLY on board. I honestly still love watching Survivor so I’m really looking forward to this new season. Blood vs. Water will premiere on CBS on September 18 … will you be watching along with me?

  1. I’m also a huge fan of survivor Trent… and I am utterly disappointed. No Ozzy??? Really Fox?

Noooo.. let’s bring back Rupert, that’s a much better idea ;( hmph. (I’ll still be bitterly watching.. lol)

  2. Vicky

I want to watch just because of Hayden from Big Brother – he was the man!

  3. :o HAYDEN?! oh man…i used to love him..a lot. but its still not enough to make me watch the show.

  4. This brilliant twist and Hayden from BB12 might actually get me to tune in this season! This twist will make for great TV, and Hayden was such a likable, funny and attractive guy when he was on BB12.

  5. I love Survivor! I am very intrigued for how this season will be, I think this is the best twist on the game that they’ve come up with. That being said, I can’t believe they brought back Colton. He is so gross and such an embarrassment to the planet. I also wish Rupert would disappear from my TV forever, I think he is the poorest sport to every play the game. He expects people to let him win, and then gets pissed when he realizes they are playing for them. Can’t wait to see those two get voted off.

    Survivor feelings…I has them.
