Lindsay Lohan Will Guest Star On HBO’s ‘Eastbound & Down’

Fresh out of rehab, Lindsay Lohan is not playing around. From her upcoming Oprah Winfrey interview/reality show, to her guest appearance on Chelsea Lately, the actress has been keeping very busy. I gotta say, I’m kind of impressed! If she can keep up this kind of work schedule, I feel like some positive changes could definitely be on the horizon for her. Yesterday LiLo took to Instagram to let the world know that she was ‘grateful’ to be ‘back @ work’ and now we know just what kind of work she was doing. Sorry Trent, it doesn’t look like she’s heading back into the studio just yet (but thanks for putting me on to First, lol). But she is coming to one of my fave HBO shows, Eastbound & Down. Click inside to learn more!

E! has the deets:

It’s not just returning to TV—it’s HBO!

Lindsay Lohan, who wrote on Instagram yesterday about being back at work without actually specifying what that work entailed, was shooting scenes for Eastbound & Down in Wilmington, N.C.

HBO confirmed Wednesday to E! News that Lohan will be guest-starring on the raunchy sitcom’s upcoming fourth and final season.

“#back@work! So grateful today! :)” she wrote.

A source tells us that Lohan plays the daughter of one of the show’s main characters and was filming a wedding scene set many years in the future. And yes, she was the bride!
No other details were immediately available, but in her selfie her long red locks are curled, big-hair-style, in keeping with the down-home vibe of the show. Will Ferrell coproduces the comedy, which stars Danny McBride as a former pro baseball pitcher who returns to his hometown to teach P.E. in a blaze of no-glory-at-all.

Eastbound & Down’s eight-episode final season premieres Sept. 29.

Now I haven’t seen the third season of Eastbound & Down yet, but I understand there’s a storyline involving Kenny (effin’) Powers’s long-lost daughter or something? It sounds like Lindsay could be taking on that role, but I guess we’ll have to tune in to find out.

Like I said, I’m happy that all the news we’re hearing about Lindsay has been pretty much work-related so far. That’s definitely a good sign, and I could totally see her on an episode of E&D. Here’s hoping we keep getting updates like this as Lindsay works on re-establishing herself in the industry.

What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to seeing her team up with Kenny & crew?
