Here Are More Topless, NSFW Lady Gaga Photos From Her ‘V’ Magazine Shoot

'I want to be an icon in many forms'

We’ve been seeing plenty of Lady Gaga in the nude, what with all her promo projects for the upcoming album ARTPOP. It all started with that first look at her V Magazine cover shoot, and today the rest of the spread has finally arrived (along with a few outtakes Gaga shared on Twitter. Lady Gaga is sometimes topless, sometimes not (but, okay, mostly topless) in this NSFW photoshoot by the legendary Inez & Vinoodh. Peep the gallery for more and click inside for an excerpt from the interview. Once again, Lady G is teaming up with performance artist Marina Abramović so it should be interesting.

Lady Gaga for V Magazine:

PAWS UP! MOTHER MONSTER IS BACK WITH MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES AND A BRAND-NEW SOUND. IN AN ICON-TO-ICON EXCHANGE, SHE SITS DOWN WITH PERFORMANCE ART PIONEER MARINA ABRAMOVIĆ TO EXPLAIN THE ETHOS BEHIND HER IMPENDING ALBUM, HER EVOLVING STATE OF BEING, AND WHAT VALUABLE INFORMATION SHE IS STORING IN HER BRAIN PURSE, IN FOUR DIFFERENT COVER STORIES! THE NEW ARTIST

It was 10pm on the East Coast when the call came through. On the line? None other than Lady Gaga and Marina Abramović. They were speaking to each other from distant lands, but the vibe was that of artistically-minded BFFs having an intellectual sleepover. While on the phone with V’s editor Sarah Cristobal, the discussion evolved from the origins of ARTPOP to Gaga’s experiences as a young, creatively-willed teenager and her thoughtful ruminations on art in general:

“I thought about Pop Art and how the dominant subject matter was always the celebrity or the pop-culture icon on the canvas, and then I thought to myself, But what I have tried endlessly to become through my work is a celebration of my differences through art, with myself as the canvas, as opposed to me as the subject matter, being put on the canvas. I don’t want to be an icon in just one form. I want to be an icon in many forms. So that’s where it began.”

You can read the rest of the interview in issue 85 of V Magazine, which hits stands today.

What did you guys think of the spread? I really like the multiple cover shots– the colors looks brilliant. As far as the nude poses, I think they’re fitting for this new movement. They even remind me a bit of the performance art video she made with Abramović.

Gaga will soon be hitting the MTV VMA stage, so we’ll finally get to see how this new movement play out in front of a live audience. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all goes down!

  1. that pic with the brown hair and dark matter smeared all over her face is like it was taken out of AHS Asylum, the part where Lana comes back to Braircliff and everything is really gritty and disgusting. Loved that show

  2. is no one going to say anything about how horrible and sickeningly skinny and emaciated she looks? The girl needs help and a three course meal three times a day every day for the next six months in order for her to be any kind of healthy body weight. I bet if she has been a tiny bit bigger than a size two everyone would be commenting about how she needs to lose weight…

  3. JM

Who is she trying to be in this Magazine?!

All I see is Michael Jackson, Joan Jett, C-Love, Beyonce, Madoona/Miley and Jennifer Aniston….

    Identiy crisis much?
The session looks ALL over the place. It’s not Gaga.. it’s Celebrity Soup.

  4. *sigh* her new song only just came out…and im already sick of this era.

  5. Commented on this photo:

i guess i don’t really get her anymore… she’s trying waaaay to hard, imo, to be something that it almost seems like she’s making a mockery… but on a slightly side note… i absolutely adore this photo… she is radiantly beautiful here

  6. Jujub

These pics are just dumb…. Horrible concept, I’m not sure what she’s trying to do here but it just looks desperate
