San Cisco Rocks LA

The TV Guide

Last night I made my way out to the Echoplex in Echo Park, CA to see one of my fave new bands live in concert. The band is called San Cisco and I feel in love with them when I caught one of their music videos RANDOMLY on an MTV broadcast that was showcasing Artists To Watch (incidentally, this same program also featured music videos by Chvrches and The 1975, two other fave new bands of mine). San Cisco performed at Lollapalooza a couple of weeks ago but sadly, I missed their performance. Therefore, I made sure to be at the Echoplex to see them live … and they were really great! The place was packed with fans who knew the lyrics to all of their songs, it was a really fun show for me.

It had been a long time since I went to a show where I didn’t know the band very well. I see a lot of concerts but most of them are artists that I know and love very well. San Cisco is a new band for me so it was nice to go in cold, not sure what to expect. They put on a great show and they sounded fantastic. Naturally, I was excited to hear the band’s single that initially caught my attention. I was too bizzy dancing to the song last night but here is the music video for their song Awkward:

I had a lot of fun last night, I’m so glad I caught San Cisco live. Incidentally, the LA band Small Pools opened last night and they were pretty fantastic, too! I had never heard them at all and loved them so much, I downloaded their EP from iTunes before their set was even over. It was just a great night of new, live music.

Today, I have a dinner date with my friend Amelia and then afterward, we’re meeting up with other friends for drinks. It’s Summertime here in LA and everything is A-OK! Happy Hump Day!
