‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Releases A Shirtless Photo Of Finnick Odair

Here's the Beef(cake)

Last week we got to see actor Sam Clafin in character as Hunger Games Victor Tribute Finnick Odair in his own promo poster then last weekend we got to see him in action as Finnick in the newly released movie trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Today we get to see Sam as Finnick again but this time he is shirtless in a scene from the film. Ever since Clafin was announced as the Finnick Odair character, fans of the book have been waiting for this moment … and here it is. Click below to see the photo.

Well, Hunger Games fans, does he look how you dreamed he’d look? It’s a great week for intel about The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Right after Lionsgate premiered a new Hunger Games trailer at Comic-Con, they’ve gone and released a new photo of a shirtless Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), who’ll make his debut in the second installment of the franchise. The photo above comes straight from a scene in the book, when Katniss recounts first meeting Finnick: “He offered me a sugar cube and asked to know all my secrets.” Now that fans are likely back in full countdown mode, Catching Fire opens November 22.

Sam looks good as Finnick. I’m not sure that he looks exactly as I imagined when I read the book and Finnick Odair was introduced but he looks good enough in character to me. Now, the book explains that Finnick is mostly naked when he meets Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) for the first time so it remains to be seen how much nekkidness we’ll see in the movie. Naturally, I think we’d all like to see more so … naturally, we will all have to see the movie when it opens in November and see for ourselves ;D

  1. I trust that Sam will bring Finnick to life in a fantastic way. I can’t wait!

I’m on the fence. It could be the expression on his face in the photo (kinda goofy) but I imagined him like a marble statue, just cut and perfect. I don’t get that look in his face. Maybe the trick is I’m not supposed to be looking at his face???

For all the talk of this guy being a “beefcake” and “gorgeous” he looks a little too soft, small and plastic to really live up to the expectations set forth…
