Tina Turner & Erwin Bach Got Hitched!

After 27 Years Together, The Couple Makes It Official

Congratulations are in order for legendary singer Tina Turner and her longtime beau Erwin Bach because the couple decided to get married … after being together for the past 27 years! I suppose after almost 3 decades together, the pair finally decided to make their relationship “official” (not that they really need a piece of paper to validate the fact that they very obviously love one another very much). Tina and Erwin got hitched in Switzerland (where Tina lives) in a very simple civil ceremony. It doesn’t sound like the couple wanted to make a big deal out of their nuptials … they just wanted to get married and that’s it. I couldn’t be happier for the both of them :)

What’s love got to do with it? Apparently everything to Tina Turner, who has finally married her decades-long beau, Erwin Bach. Turner, 73, tied the knot with the German producer in a civil ceremony in Switzerland, says Reuters. The pair have been together for the past 27 years – and they’ve lived together in Zurich, Switzerland, for more than 15 years. They plan to have a Buddhist celebration at their home on the banks of Lake Zurich on Sunday, according to the report. This will be a second marriage for the “Proud Mary” singer, who was wed to the notorious Ike Turner from 1962 until her divorce filing in 1976 … For now, there’s no word on why Turner and Bach decided to tie the knot after being together so long. In 2000, they both downplayed wedding chatter while speaking to PEOPLE, and seemed content with their leisurely European lifestyle filled with bicycle rides through Zurich and the South of France, and homemade dishes whipped up by Bach. “We are married – we just haven’t walked down the aisle, and until there’s a need to, we probably won’t,” Turner said at the time. “We don’t need a marriage to be together,” Bach added. “Some people need that security thing, but I think if you’re internally happy with your partner, you don’t need symbols.” Apparently, after all these years, those symbols mean something after all.

Considering the way Tina‘s first marriage turned out, I don’t blame her for wanting to be 100%, absolutely sure that her next marriage would be to the right man. I guess after 27 years, she was finally sure. Let’s send all of our love and congrats to the happy couple today! Yay!!
