Solange Knowles Holds A Rally In Brooklyn, Following The George Zimmerman Verdict

'Our men, women, and children are not human targets'

Yesterday was a pretty sucky day in general, between the news of Cory Monteith‘s passing, and the announcement of George Zimmerman acquittal in the Trayvon Martin case. I really appreciate everyone’s comments on my post about the outcome of the case, and I’m happy to say that people everywhere (celebrities included) are speaking out about the society we live in– where an innocent young man’s life can be taken and it is not deemed a crime. We learned that Beyoncé spoke out in her own way about Zimmerman‘s acquittal, and her sister Solange also held a peaceful protest at Borough Hall in Brooklyn. Check out the gallery to see the many people who came out in support of the late Trayvon Martin.

  1. I really, really just like her more and more.

i was just commenting how proud I was that all the protests/marches have been so peaceful/non violent and then my jerk boyfriend has to go pull up a news report that a march here in LA turned violent when protesters threw rocks at the police. Of course arrests were made and it just makes me so mad. I feel like this powerful message gets lost when idiots resort to violence.
