Watch: Jay-Z Gets Emotional Discussing Lyrics About Blue Ivy On ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’

'Jay-Z Blue' Will Address Fatherhood And Being Fatherless
'The paranoia of not being a great Dad...'

As we know, Jay-Z is preparing for the release of his highly-anticipated new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Like Kanye West with Yeezus, Jigga is taking a very different approach to the promotion of his new album, releasing lyrics rather than singles and also teaming up with Samsung for the album release. In a new clip he talks to Rick Rubin about a song on the new album (called Jay-Z Blue) in which he talks about his daughter Blue Ivy and his new life as a father, which is complicated by the fact that he was raised without a father. Peep the video for more.

I feel him. When i was 2 years old my mom killed herself. I was raised by a father and to brothers. No one taught me how to be a lady, so when i’m going to have a baby, i’m gonna freak out. I think Jay does a fantastic job. I don’t know how he is but i could never imagine him doing it wrong.
