6 Years Of Friendship And Counting

The TV Guide

Today is the anniversary of the day that I met my good friends Kirsten and Darion six years ago here in LA and last night, we celebrated our Friendiversary with a sumptuous dinner together. It was fortuitous for us that Kirsten could be here in LA to celebrate the anniversary of our meeting so we decided to do it up right. The three of us met up for dinner at ink. before we made our way into West Hollywood to join the crazy celebration that erupted over the invalidation of California’s Proposition 8 that attempted to ban same-sex marriage. It was a very nice night of love and friendship :)

Our dinner at ink. last night was crazy delicious. We ordered a bunch of stuff that sounded good and found out that it all tasted even better. As we gorged ourselves on delectable delights, Kirsten, Darion and I gabbed away as if no time had passed since the days when we used to hang out all the time. It was about a year after I moved to LA that I met Kirsten and Darion at a LA Film Festival screening of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode Once More With Feeling. We started hanging out, like, the week after and the rest is history. The 3 of us were pretty much inseparable from that point on. We’ve shared a lot of great times together and even tho Kirsten lives in Australia (where she is training to become a doctor), our friendship is as strong as ever. After dinner, we met up with some friends at The Abbey to toast the momentous Supreme Court rulings on same-sex marriage:

We didn’t stay too long but we did get to enjoy the joyous atmosphere that overtook the city last night. It was really cool to be part of it all … especially since Darion and I were present back when same-sex marriage became legal in California the first time (before Prop 8 overturned the law). It was nice to be back in the same spot celebrating together again.

Tonight, Kirsten and I are going to see Neil Gaiman at a book reading/signing for his new just-released novel The Ocean at the End of the Street. She and I are big fans so we’re both very excited for the event. I hope all y’all are having a great Thursday today :) Please spend some time today to tell your BFFs that you love and care for them dearly!!

Hi Lucy!! I really don’t mean to be mean!! but remember that scene from mean girls when the girls ask Cady if she knows who sings this song, and she answers “spice girls” and then regina says “I love her, she’s like a martian”… yeahhhh, this is kinda like that…
