Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg will appear in a forthcoming biopic film about the life of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who shot and killed President John F. Kennedy and as you can see in the promo photo below, Michelle is COMPLETELY unrecognizable as Marina Oswald. It’s been some time since we’ve seen Michelle T. in a major project so it appears this new biopic film titled Killing Kennedy will be a nice reintroduction for her. Judging by the seriousness of the story, I’m guessing Killing Kennedy is a heavy-handed drama … which will be a nice change of pace for Trachtenberg, I think. Click below to get your first look at Michelle as Mrs. Oswald and as well as your first look at her co-star Will Rothhaar in character as Lee Harvey Oswald himself.
You know her from “Gossip Girl,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Harriet the Spy,” but chances are that you still won’t recognize Michelle Trachtenberg in the photo above, as she portrays Marina Oswald in National Geographic Channel’s upcoming movie “Killing Kennedy.”
Trachtenberg is shown holding the young actress who plays one of Marina’s two daughters, June and Audrey, her children with Lee Harvey Oswald (Will Rothhaar), the man who was assassinated himself before he could be tried for the assassination of John F. Kennedy. “Parks and Recreation” star Rob Lowe portrays Kennedy in the movie, which will air on NatGeo in November, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of Kennedy. “Once Upon a Time” star Ginnifer Goodwin stars as Jackie Kennedy in the movie, which is based on the bestselling book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. Russian-born Marina Oswald, who remarried and gave birth to two sons after her first husband’s death, remained in the United States after the Kennedy assassination and became a U.S. citizen in 1989. She has since said she believes Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill John F. Kennedy.
Wow. I am so blown away by this image of Michelle as Marina. She looks … fantastic. Of course it takes much more than a great costume and expert make-up for an actress to do justice in a role like this but I have to say that I am impressed by just this photo. I’ve been a big Michelle Trachtenberg fan ever since her days on Buffy so I’m happy to see her career head in this more serious direction. Killing Kennedy is set to air this November to coincide with the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination. Does she not look amazing? I love it!!
