Excess Baggage

In preparation for our upcoming trip to Sweden next week, my friend Kirsten and I did a bit of shopping yesterday to pick up some supplies for the journey. I decided to indulge myself a little bit and pick up a new piece of luggage for the trip and I knew that Kiki would be the perfect person to help me decide what to get. We made our way to Beverly Hills to walk around, grab some ice cream and do a bit of window shopping. It was there, inside the Ralph Lauren store, that I fell madly in love! Sometimes in life, the journey can be just as important as the destination so I’m hoping to make our journey to Sweden as much fun as possible.

While the shopping was fun and all, the getting to hang out and spend time with Kirsten was really the best part of our Beverly Hills jaunt. She helped me select a beautiful Ralph Lauren bag that I’m going to be in lurve with for the rest of my life (I’m such a girl about the accessories), true, but it was our time together that was the most fun. It’s been really nice having Kirsten here in LA for the past week and I’m really looking forward to our trip to Sweden and beyond. It’s been a very long time since we’ve been able to spend so much quality time together so I’m glad we’re making up for lost time. We’ve had so much fun together thus far, I know we’re going to have the best time ever once we leave for NYC and then Stockholm, Sweden. Neither of us have ever been to Scandinavia so we’re both really looking forward to our trip. If any of y’all have recommendations on what to do while we’re there, please pass them along :)

After Kirsten and I were all shopped out, I made my way out to meet up with Tamar and Rob for drinks and much overdue hang session. I haven’t been able to see them for far too long so I’m glad we were able to find the time to catch up. Both Tam and Rob have very exciting things happening in their lives and I couldn’t be happier for the both of them. I just had a really great day of quality friend time yesterday so it was a pretty sweet day, I’d say.

Tonight I’m meeting up with Adriana for dinner and movie, we’re going to an early screening of The Heat. I’m also going to start the packing process for my trip. Even tho I’ll only be gone for a little over a month, I want to make sure that I’m packed and ready to go. I hope you are having a great Tuesday!!

Sweden is nice but Denmark is fabulous.I found the danes much more friendly that the swedes.Anyway if drive there is now a bridge between Gothenburg and Copenhagen (I think) and is a beautiful bridge and sight.Roskilde Fjord,in Denmark is breathtaking.Stockholm is nice specially the Wasa Museum and the Royal Palace and the bridges.Stockholm is the Venice of the North.Uppsala Univ is great to visit also.Have a great time.Once you enter Scandinavia you can move between the countries without any problem. The land of the midnight sun is out of this world.Hope you can see the Northern Lights also.

    • @Oscar in Miami Beach — Yay, thanks!!

The bridge stretches between Malmö and Copenhagen :)
I think we swedes are a bit more withdrawn compared to the danes, that’s probably why we can come across as less friendly, we just don’t want to bother anybody :)

Funny I actually work everyday both with Swedes and Danes and find Swedes much more friendly but I guess it just depends on the situation :)

If you do take @Oscar in Miami Beach’s idea of going to Copenhagen I can give you a couple of places to go see since my sister did her college semester abroad there back in the fall of 2010. I was unfortunately unable to visit her when she was there but one of her favorite places had to be Christiania which is the hippie part of the city. Also going to see Hamlet’s castle was another highlight for her among other things. Have fun in Stockholm. Don’t know anything about Sweden. But I heard it’s a nice place.
