Gearing Up For The San Francisco Marathon

Yesterday I made my way up to San Francisco, CA to get settled in before I run the San Francisco Marathon tomorrow. The flight up from LA was quick and painless and I managed to get into town early enough to check into my hotel and then make my way out to the SF Marathon expo so that I could pick up my race bib for the race. Last night, I had dinner with Emma’s sister Chelsea and then we met up with her boyfriend and his brother for a late night showing of Man of Steel. All in all, it’s been a fun time here in SF thus far.

I must confess that I don’t feel as prepared for this marathon as I felt for my earlier marathons but I’m gonna keep hope alive and just push through for my goal. I’ve been carbo loading and hydrating for a couple of days now so at this point, all I have to do is run. I warmed up my legs with a nice long walk to the expo yesterday to pick up my race materials before I met up with Chelsea for dinner. We grabbed some delicious Italian food and got to catch up. She is just the funnest ever, I love hanging out with her. We decided to see Man of Steel since neither she nor her boyfriend Michael had seen it yet. I had a great time seeing the movie again, catching a few tiny little things I missed seeing the first time. It was a late night so I just made it back to my hotel to crash out. Today is going to be really chill. I don’t plan on doing much other than eating carbs and drinking water. I’ll be going to sleep early tonight ahead of tomorrow’s 5:30 AM race. Wish me luck, I think I’m going to need it. Have a great weekend and a very happy Saturday !!

Good luck! Sending good thoughts and positive vibes your way, I know you’ll do great! I just did my first 10k race last weekend (walking, no way in hell am I ready to run…YET) and it was so much fun!

Good luck Trent!! You’ll do great! I always remind myself before a run that the mind will give up before the legs will.. and pain is temporary lol. Get in your zone and have fun! :) I wish I was racing this weekend!

Trent, your calves are SICK. Just sick. They will carry you through mightily.
