Blast from the Past
<3

Last month we got to see cute video of 13-year old Ryan Gosling talking about his new job as a Mouseketeer on The Mickey Mouse Club and today we get to see another video of young master Gosling in action. Over the weekend, the 90′s TV series Goosebumps, based on the books by R.L. Stine, made its debut on Netflix and, as a result, the world was reminded that Ryan Gosling starred in one of the episodes. The embed above features a clip of Ryan starring in the Goosebumps episode titled Say Cheese and Die! and as you can see, he was a formidable actor even back then.

Additionally, while researching Ryan‘s days as a young actor, I came upon a couple more blasts from the past that I think you’re going to want to see. Click below to see MORE of young Ryan Gosling from back in the day.

SO, did you know that Ryan Gosling starred in the TV series Young Hercules?! Um, I DIDN’T!!!

In my defense, I was only vaguely aware of this show when it was on air all those years ago. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen one episode of the show in my life … so, yeah, I guess I just never knew that Ryan played Hercules once upon a time. Thankfully, FULL EPISODES of Young Hercules are online for our viewing pleasure now. Here is a FULL ep of Young Hercules titled Life for a Life:

I fully intend to watch more eps … immediately.

OH and one more thing, Ryan‘s stint as a 90s TV star made him eligible to be a 90′s heartthrob … here’s a photo from one of his appearances in the teen magazine Bop:

So. Much. Hair. I LOVE IT! Don’t mind me, I’ll just be tacking this photo up to my fridge since I don’t have a locker. Hmmm, who knew there was such a treasure trove of Gosling things to indulge in from days gone by. I wonder what other treasures are to be found from Ryan Gosling‘s past. HMMMM.

I remember him from a teen show set on a boat. Like a study abroad thing. Don’t remember the name, but Ryan was a awkward wanna be gangster. Ah, the good ol days.

  2. Shane

He was also in an episode of my personal childhood fav, Are You Afraid of the Dark? He co-starred in that episode (“The Tale of Station 109.1″) with Gilbert Gottfried…

  3. Angie

R.L. Stine was the only reason I ever picked up a book as a child (without being told I had to). I totally remember this epidosde from that screenshot! I had no clue the series was going to be on Netflix! Totally going to have a guilty pleasure weekend if it is!

  4. omg i totally forgot he was on Goosebumps! oh how i miss the 90s!

  5. I was totally going to post on here about him being on Goosebumps, but figured it had been covered already! This was like two days ago…binging on Netflix, getting all nostalgic and bam, random Gosling. Never a bad thing though. :)

  6. Nathan

I will always think of him as the kid in Breaker High, though I was always more of a Max fan, haha.

  7. Lindsay

I was obsessed with him on Breaker High! Like recording it on video and everything! OBSESSED. Sean + Tamira = Forever!

how bout “remember the titans”?? Everytime I remember the way he looked on that movie, like such a regular skinny, boy-next-door teenager, I can’t believe right now it’s like he’s photoshoped!
