Detroit Is Hockey Town

Last night was a really superfun night here in Detroit as my friends and I made our way to the Joe Louis Arena to cheer on the Detroit Red Wings as they faced the Anaheim Ducks in Stanley Cup playoff action. As you may recall, I saw these two teams in action on Wednesday night back home in SoCal and the outcome of that game wasn’t all that great. I am happy to report that my beloved Red Wings pulled out a huge victory last night, beating the Ducks 4-3. Click below to see a few fun photos from last night’s game and share in my ecstatic glee.

I had the best time last night Sarah and Mark at the game. When things were looking dire, Sarah pulled out her napkin-turned-rally towel and managed to infuse the Red Wings with a bit of luck to pull out the win. That’s why she’s proudly holding a napkin in the photo above. The 3 of us had an absolute blast … games at the JLA are my favorite sports games of all. I like going to baseball games and I like watching hockey in other arenas but there is NOTHING like seeing a game at the Joe Louis Arena:

The Red Wings will next fly back to Anaheim to face the Ducks one last time on Sunday night. When they win, they will move on to the next phase of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Go Wings!!

The plan for today is to get some amazing sushi in Royal Oak at my spot Little Tree. Then we are planning to visit the Detroit Institute of Arts for a couple of hours before we make our way to Comerica Park to cheer on the Detroit Tigers as they face the Cleveland Indians. The Tigers won BIG last night, here’s hoping they win big today as well :D

Happy Saturday, all! Wee!!
