On Sunday we saw a photo of Justin Bieber cozying up to his off-again, on-again girlfriend Selena Gomez and today we get to see another photo of the young pop star that deserves some attention. As you may know, Bieber has become a big fan of tattoos and now the lil’ homie is up to his 12th tattoo. JB proudly shows off his newest tattoo in new photos with fans snapped on tour in Denmark. As you can see below, he decided to get a koi fish tattooed on his body … ‘cuz … it’s cute? I dunno. Check it out below.
He’s been acquiring quite the tattoo collection since getting his first one at the tender age of 16. And backstage in Copenhagen, Denmark last week, Justin Bieber showed off yet another new piece of body art. The 19-year-old has added a design of a koi carp, which is believed to bring good luck, to his left arm. The fish has been placed under an owl – which he has had for the past six months – and a large cross representing the Greek letter ‘Chi’, which means Christ, which he had done in February. He also has the word ‘Believe’ just inside his left arm, which he had to commemorate the release of his album of the same name. London-based tattooist Guy Sahar was summoned to Justin’s hotel room in the British capital at 6am after being ‘on standby’ all night to create the Chi symbol. Last month, Guy told the Daily Mirror: ‘Initially I was told to go to Justin’s hotel at 7pm by one of his minders but then I was called back and put on standby all night. I was finally summoned to the hotel at 6am. I was told money wasn’t a problem so we didn’t discuss prices. ‘I spent four hours tattooing him and his DJ, and wasn’t even offered a glass of water. When I said it was £1,000, Bieber’s bodyguard didn’t want to pay. They snubbed me and tried to haggle over the money. In the end I accepted £500 just so I could go.’ The koi carp is believed to be the singer’s 3rd tattoo this year and his 12th overall. In January, he acquired a native Indian head logo of Canadian junior ice hockey team, the Stratford Cullitons on his left shoulder. Posting photos of it on his Instagram, Justin said: ‘My grandfather always took me to the stratford culliton every Friday night this is for u Grampa … My man @chenterios hooked it up.’
Justin got his first tattoo on his 16th birthday of a seagull on his left hip. In 2011, he and his father Jeremy had matching tattoos done on the left side of their toroso of ‘Yeshua’ written in Hebrew, which many believe to be Jesus’ Hebrew or Aramaic name. His religious tattoos extended to an image of Jesus Christ on his left leg in January 2012 and a praying hand on his calf. Underneath the hand is a ring of roses. In July 2012, he debuted a Japanese Kanji symbol for music tattoo on his right arm, and two months later, a crown design on his upper right chest. He also has Roman numericals for 4, 1, 75 – his mother Pattie’s birthday – across this torso. Speaking about his tattoos on the Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year, Justin said: ‘I like classic, classic tattoos…I just really like the detail [on the owl tattoo] and the artist was really good.’
OY, this kid. I have a feeling that he is going to regret some of these tattoos some day. Maybe it’s just me but it looks like he’s using his body as a sticker book. I’m assuming that he’s coming across photos of tattoos he likes and then he just gets them because he can. Of course, he’s free to do whatever he likes with his body and if these tattoos make him happy then that is all that matters. I think we can safely assume that his desire for tattoos won’t die anytime soon. I wonder what his 13th tattoo will be.
