First Listen: Florence + The Machine Release ‘Over The Love,’ From ‘The Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack

Epic.

Earlier today I confessed that Drake‘s new song was on repeat, and I’m happy to say I now have two songs that I’ll be blasting all day. Right about now, everybody’s got Baz Luhrmann on the brain. Trent‘s been enjoying some of his old movies, and I’ve been mentally and emotionally preparing for the release of The Great Gatsby as well. One aspect of the film that I’m crazy-excited about is the music. Jay-Z produced the soundtrack and we got to hear snippets of some of the amazing songs when a new trailer dropped a while back. Today we get the full version of one of the songs I was most excited to hear– Florence + The Machine‘s Over The Love. Click inside for your first listen!

Florence + The Machine, Over The Love:

Whew! That’s a ballad, baby. And I just wanna remind everyone that friggen Jay-Z produced this soundtrack… so it’s not a big deal or anything.

No, but for reals. Love, love, love this song! And I know PITNBr James was just as excited over that snippet we heard as I was. I gotta hear everyone’s thoughts on this one– love it or what?

    In love.

Is it sad this shout out is the best thing to happen to me this week at least, lol? I’m loving this song! God, Florence is so good. Her voice is so powerful but also haunting. Best song I’ve heard in a long time. Although I’m sure it’s the best song on the soundtrack I’m still excited to hear the rest. I hope the film itself is a bit less stylized and very true to the book, but I love incorporating modern music in period pieces.

  4. Love! Then again, I love everything Florence and the Machine does!

  5. Love love love it! Florence can do no wrong.
