Beyoncé Reveals Another Nipple Costume On The ‘Mrs. Carter Show’ World Tour

Because... You Can Never Have Too Many Nipple Costumes?

So. The other day we got our first look at the madness that was Beyoncé and her bedazzled boobs kicking off the Mrs. Carter Show world tour. Whew! Honestly? I agree with a lot of y’all– that bodysuit was just ridiculous! But y’all better get used to Bey‘s faux nip-slips ’cause today a new photo of a new nipple-focused bodysuit has hit the interwebs. It’s not as… um… intense as that first costume, but we are definitely seeing a trend here. Click inside for more!

Bey Loves Her “Nipples”:

Fashionista has the deets:

Another Beyoncé concert date, another risqué gold-nippled bodysuit.

The latest creation is by Ralph & Russo Couture. While breasts and nipples aren’t as defined on this number (like they are in the bustier The Blonds created for the pop star), it’s sheer and more revealing, making those sequined nipples all the more important.

According to a release, the look is an “embellished bodysuit with gold crystal and bullion thread embroidery.” Beyoncé has worn Ralph & Russo Couture before on previous tours. She also wore one of their pieces (a more demure white number) on the first night of her tour.

“Beyoncé is such a powerful and inspirational woman, we were absolutely thrilled when she approached Ralph & Russo Couture again to design outfits for her infamous ‘Mrs Carter World Tour’,” creative director Tamara Ralph said. “Her energetic and commanding performances make designing for her so inspiring!”

Beyoncé has been catching flack for wearing The Blonds’ trompe l’oeil bustier. Unsurprisingly, Fox News devoted a whole piece to the backlash quoting “experts” who called it “vulgar” and an “ill-executed effort to keep up with younger and more raucous stars.” Vanity Fair noted that Obama distanced himself from Beyoncé following her wearing of the “controversial, anatomically correct sequin suit” and that trip she and Jay-Z took to Cuba.

This is hilarious. I mean, it’s Bey. And she can do whatever she wants… I just don’t get how these outfits are not supposed to be funny. In fact, it would actually be cool if I got the sense that she was being funny– like, ironic maybe? But I’ve never known Beyoncé to say or do anything ironic so. Yeah. No. Okay.

LMAO, what do y’all think of this getup?

I feel like this is just a ploy to get people to talk about her concert/world tour… An attempt to stay relevant. Bey may be several things… But a gal with a great sense of humour? Not likely.

  2. Linnea

uhm.. She knows her career is going down hill after her latest album, she knows that her HBO documentary weren’t that successful as she hoped on, so she started with nipples. Just so people actually cared about her tour.. So she can stay “popular” on that for a little more time while she plans to come up with something else.

  3. I didn’t mind it on the other costume because it looked cohesive. Like a painting of the female form put onto clothing. It made sense in an artistic way. This one looked like she slapped some bedazzling nips on what would have otherwise been a nice feminine costume.

  4. I don’t know. Maybe she’s anticipating we’ll find these costumes sexy artsy fartsy. Or like you said Shannon, maybe it’s ironic? But all I can think is ew, I don’t want to see nipples at a concert. And they’re just way too prominent.

  5. i feel like shes wearing these awful/ugly outfits because she started this tour with no new music/album out (other than that mess of ‘Bow Down’) so she needs to give people something to talk about.

  6. Nipples – everybody’s got them. (normally)

  7. I can’t help it…these outfits make me think of Josephine Baker. There are worse things in the world than (fake) tatas. Society has totally embrassed violence, but heaven forbid we see (a represenation of) the parts we were all born with.

The definition of “trompe l’oeil” is: “Style of representation in which a painted object is intended to deceive the viewer into believing it is the object itself.”

From an artistic stand point, I am amused by this. That people are freaking out about fake boobs, when she is actually covered. From a pop music lover stand point…I don’t know if I actually like it. And I think about the young kids in her fan base.

I love ‘em. Why? ‘Cause B’s ego needs a check and these costumes bring out the haterade. Keep coming with those nipples B!

  9. Fake nips or not, I am just so over the bodysuit in general, and have been for the last five, six or seven years. There is only so much you can do with a leotard before you have to start recycling, and we’re onto at least the third gen. Surely, there must be an original thinker in creative costume design out there who can shake things up. The bedazzled naked body suit is the end of the line and it’s time to get off the ride.

    • Leotards have been worn by dancers since 1886, so I think we are more than a few generations along in the evolution. But I do agree that someone out there has to have a design that utilizes textile technology in a new way.

    • Hey there, Krissy! :) Yes, I know leotards/bodysuits have been worn by dancers for at least as long as you point out, but I think of ballerinas and gymnasts in that carnation, and that is ok by me. When I see these types of costumes in a big stage production on someone who is primarily a singer who dances, and then they get all sequined and crystalled with it, and it just reminds me of circus attire. Brittany did that ages ago, and I just wish it would go away already. I’d love to see Vicky B. show costumes! She might use the leotard as a base, but you’d never know it.

    • edit: *incarnation* not the flower.

    • It is very much like a circus costume (and embellished leotards have been around for a lot longer than Brit). I hear ya that they are getting old, but I guess my point is that they have been around for hundreds of years now so I wouldnt get my hopes up that they are going away anytime soon. The leg openings and sequins just work for people who are moving their legs and need to be seen from the back rows of huge venues. Usually change comes from technological advancements (like laser cutting leather or nylons for pantyhose instead of stockings, etc) Hopefully something more advanced comes along soon! :)

    • Yeah, I know you’re right. Not going away soon, if ever. I officially hate voice input and auto-correct…I caught the first goof, but the most glaring of all time slipped past. Britney is in no way, no how a “Brittany”. Gawd. I am going to go play on the freeway now and taking all of my devices with me. Bye!

  10. Are those nipples are partially melted Hershey’s Kisses?

  11. The outfit would really not be that bad if the nipples weren’t there but with them, it just doesn’t make sense.

  12. Steph

I still want to know why she essentially wears a bathing suit every time she’s on stage. Its not flattering, it just looks like she forgot to wear pants.

  13. You know I’m the #1 Beyonce hater…but let’s face the facts. Her whole look is just tired. She does the same dance moves to the same old songs…why would you start a tour with no new album? I THOUGHT the point of the Superbowl was to amp up to some new music, but no? I mean, other than the tired bodysuits, she is still rocking the same weave…nothing is new about her gigs…she needs to do something to revolutionize or start over…a Beyonce album that sounds like the other Beyonce albums for a tour that’s just like the other tours performed by a Beyonce that looks, dances and acts the same as the other Beyonce’s is sure to catch on even with the hardest of Stans…the ish will get old to everyone eventually.

    • You just said what I said before the Superbowl. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I love Bey, and even I get a whiff of stale air coming from her direction every now and then.

  14. Donny

I don’t even know what to say. I hope these costumes are tongue-in-cheek & worn for humor’s sake. I know Bey has that in her. I also hope she didn’t wear both nipple outfits on the same night beause that would not make any sense. If she did, I’m done. If not, perhaps it’s a joke. Hard to say not knowing the context of the show.

I like Bey but was not a fan from the beginning. I’ve grown to appreciate her as an artist. But it seems this period, starting with the Super Bowl, it’s become apparent that she’s rehashing. I think many were expecting her Super Bowl performance to be epic but it wasn’t. Coming the year following Madonna was some tall boots to fill and she didn’t even come close.

Having seen her in some interviews, she seems down to earth considering her level of fame. I don’t think she comes across as a diva, she’s a mom, she’s supportive of other artists and shares her feelings about political causes, etc. The tour will be a success no matter what but I expect more from her than what I’ve seen lately.

    An attempt to be Madonna.
