Selena Gomez is back with a new single titled Come & Get It … but we can’t hear it just yet. Selena will perform the song LIVE for the first time ever this weekend at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. So, while we wait to hear what the single sounds like, we do get to check out what the cover art for the track looks like. Selena posted the cover art for Come & Get It on her official Facebook profile this week, which you can check out in full below.
World-wide multi-platinum-selling Hollywood Records’ recording artist Selena Gomez is set to debut her new single, “Come & Get It,” on television for the first time during the “2013 MTV Movie Awards” LIVE on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Gomez will debut the new single on Monday, April 8 with On Air with Ryan Seacrest on 102.7 KIIS FM. Immediately following the Seacrest premiere, “Come & Get It” will be available on iTunes April 8, and outlets everywhere April 9. “Come & Get It” is the first single from Selena Gomez’ upcoming album, to be released this summer. Gomez recently spoke to MTV News about her upcoming performance, the new album and why she thinks the Movie Awards is the perfect place to perform it for the first time: “It’s really cool because I got to take a year off of music and really be a part of great movies and work with great people… so, I thought it would perfect that I kind of go into music again through MTV and then the Movie Awards… I’m so stoked. I really wanted [the album] to be a different level for me… so for the performance I’m just going to try to do things that nobody has ever seen from me before and kind of take it to the next level…”
I get that Selena started out as an actress on TV before she broke into music but … to me, I only think of her music when I think about her career. I’ve yet to see Spring Breakers but I plan to … but I am WAY more excited by the prospect of a new album from Selena over a new movie. I’m really looking forward to the release of this single. I might even have to tune in to the MTV Movie Awards to get my first listen. I’m not crazy about the single cover art (it’s a bit too Carmen Miranda for my taste) but I have high hopes that the song will be a hit.
