The One, The Only ‘Batman’

The TV Guide

Last night Ollie and I made our way to the ArcLight in Hollywood to see the 1989 film Batman on the big screen. It was the first time that I’ve been able to see Batman in a theater since the film was released almost 24 years ago (tho, that Summer, I paid to see it in theaters 12 times). Batman, as you may know, was the first superhero blockbuster film of all time. It is generally considered the first movie to start the Summer blockbuster trend and after all these years, it stands as one of the greatest superhero films of all time. Folks, last night was fun as Hell.

I’m so happy that Ollie was able to make the movie because she is as big a fan of the movie as I am. It was so effing cool to watch the movie in the Cinerama Dome, larger than life and just flawless. I have to send out lots of love to my friend Rob for giving me the head’s up on this showing. The ArcLight Theaters are showing classic films all month long … this weekend, I’m seeing The Breakfast Club (for the first time in a theater). Date nights with Ollie are always fun … but last night’s Batman date night was the best!

Tonight, I’m heading out to Santa Monica to see Tamar give a lecture at the Apple Store. She’ll be discussing her photography and I’m really excited to see her in action. I hope you are having a great Thursday … Happy Weekend Eve :D

I would LOVE to see the original Batman films in a theater! So incredibly jealous (and I love the shirt too…I just got a pretty bad-ass Batman/Joker shirt myself!)

I can recite most of the lines in Breakfast club by heart….

Breakfast Club is my favourite film, so jealous you’ll get to see it on big screen.
