‘Revenge Wears Prada’ The Sequel To ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Will Be Released In June

First Look

Back in May of last year we learned that author Lauren Weisberger was penning the sequel to her bestselling novel The Devil Wears Prada and today we not only learn that the new book, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, will be released in June (pushed back a bit from its original April release date) but we also get our first look at the book’s cover. As you may know, The Devil Wears Prada was adapted into a hugely successful film that starred Academy Award-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. I’m guessing that plans are in the works for a sequel film to be made from this sequel novel … to which I gleefully exclaim, WOOT!

If the sound of Meryl Streep murmuring “Ahn-dre-ah!” sends delicious chills down your spine, you may be counting down the days until the release of Lauren Weisberger’s sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, the 2003 roman à clef that inspired the hit 2006 film. EW has the first look at the cover of the hotly anticipated sequel, titled Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, which isn’t out until June 4. Revenge Wears Prada picks up eight years after former Runway magazine assistant Andrea “Andy” Sachs parted ways with Miranda Priestly on bad terms. Andy is now editing The Plunge, the hottest bridal magazine around, alongside Emily, her one-time Runway nemesis turned current BFF. While Andy is planning her own wedding to Max, a handsome media scion, she remains haunted by her impeccably heeled former boss — and the magazine world being as small as it is, it’s only a matter of time before she runs into the legendary editrix once again.

I’m a HUGE fan of the film version of The Devil Wears Prada so I’m very excited to see where those characters are today. I might have to reread the original novel before this sequel is released or, you know, just rewatch the movie about 10 million times. The book is out this year, my guess is that the movie will be out in the next couple of years. Should be fun!

This is the only instance I can personally think of where the movie was so much better than the book! In the book, the character was not easy to empathize or sympathize with. She came off a bit whiny and at times not deserving. It was a bit frustrating but still a good story. The movie was just like, “whoa!” So much better!! Will read the book but cannot wait for a movie sequel!

That’s probably true. I never bothered to read the books though I’ve wanted to. The series is just to amazing.
