A Wonderful Date With Gillian (And Lynda Carter)

Back in March of 2009 my good friend Gillian and I went to the Catalina Jazz Club to see Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter live in concert. Last night, we returned to the Catalina Club to see our girl live in concert again. For those of you who don’t know, Lynda Carter was a singer before she famously became Wonder Woman on TV in the late 70’s/early 80’s. For the past few years, she’s made a return to singing and Gillian and I became HUGE fans. When I found out that Lynda Carter was performing again, I knew we had to see her … and we had a blast last night.

The Catalina Jazz Club is a dinner theater so you get to eat your steak while the performance takes place on stage … dude, this is the ONLY way to see a concert. So fun! Lynda put on an amazing show, as usual, and Gillian and I had the time of our lives. Unfortunately, the spirited beverages were free-flowing last night and, well, I’m kinda paying for it today. I don’t really remember properly but I think G might’ve accosted Lynda with loads of love after the show. I’m fairly certain I refrained from embarrassing myself … I mean … fairly certain :(

OY! Today is a rough day for me. I’m not accustomed to hangovers anymore so my body is NOT happy. I need to rehydrate like CRAZY today and eat eat eat ahead of the LA Marathon on Sunday. This afternoon, I need to get downtown to pick up my race bib for the marathon and then … well, eat eat eat. If you never hear from me again, it’s likely because my head exploded all over the walls. Pray for me … and Happy Friday!

Oh my goodness, Trent. Take care of yourself today! I hope you have a great race. It should be a beautiful course. You will survive!

    • @Rebecca — Thank you

Trent, perhaps a little Gloria Gaynor should be on tap for the pre-race warm up? :)

She is very delightful to see in concert and she is very engaging. We went to see her 3 times, two of them at the Razz Room in San Francisco. She even shook my hand (and OMG her hands were soft).
