Late Tuesday night we got to check out the amazingly beautiful official Capitol portrait of Katniss Everdeen (played by Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence) as she will be seen in the upcoming sequel film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Today we get to check out the official Capitol portrait for her fellow District 12 tribute (and complicated romantic interest) Peeta Mellark. Peeta, as you may know, is played by Josh Hutcherson in the film and he is described as “solid as a rock” with a “touch of shyness”. Folks (like me) have been anxiously awaiting the release of this promo photo ever since the Katniss photo was released a couple of days ago so … without further ado click below and check it out.

This is a great photo … I just love how Peeta always makes such a great companion to Katniss. The perfect styling of these two characters is due to Cinna (played by Lenny Kravitz), whose official Capitol portrait we got to see earlier this week as well. As for Peeta here, well, he’s not to shabby looking for being a mere “boy with the bread”, eh? LOVE THIS PHOTO! That being said … I wonder when we’re going to get to see the Finnick Odair photo … hmmmm?

I CAN’T HANDLE IT! I am obsessed with this portrait! He looks amazing! Love the styling here too. Ughhhh. Why isn’t it November?!
Also, do you think we will see Finnick O’dair in his underwear? ;)
P.S. sounds like Gale is next. I wonder how that is supposed to work? Why would he have a Capitol portrait? Oh well, I’m just excited to see him!
these portraits are just amazing!
Peeta looks like boy band material! Oh oh, you don’t know you are beautiful. LOL! And yeah, the next clue sounds like is going to be Gale, given that Haymitch and Katniss have already been release. Hm, despite my better judgement, I always was Team Gale. So yes, I just want to see him.
Is he wearing Uggs?? Seriously, they look like Uggs… urgh…
Man!
Has it been that long since Little Manhattan, ‘eh Josh?
I love how he looks here.
It’s an I-am-the-one-Katniss-will-end-up-with shot.

Woot!!
More please!!
LMAO! Winning commentary. Mockingjay was so emotionally tough for me that, by the end, I really didn’t even care about teams. I just wanted to be hugged and to stop my existential crisis. I mean, that was one sad and uncomfortable ending. It makes sense as to why Katniss NEEDED someone like Peeta in the end. It’s was all so sad, though.
That is always how I have felt about her ending up with Peeta. He was who she needed in the end. Gale wasn’t good for her, and Peeta made her a happier person which she needed in the end. And I also needed a hug through all of Mockingjay. I love when I get that emotionally invested though. Obsessed.
I wouldn’t say Gale wasn’t good for her (LOL! I’m Team Gale sensitive), but she needed someone like Peeta more than someone like Gale just to keep on being…to survive her own tragedy. The ending is so heartbreaking even in that sense. Did she stay with Peeta out of need or out of love? Eventually, with time, she seems to have gotten herself there (with the real or not real), but at first, it was need because she was too broken. I’m happy she got Peeta to provide that for her, and I’m happy that at some point she was able of reciprocating. I do hope that, at some point down the line, she would reconnect with Gale, though….because for a long time they were each other’s supporting system. For my mental stability, I like to think they did.
At the risk of sounding like a crazy person, after finishing my read, I actually spent the next two weeks in continuous thought…I couldn’t seem to shake the book out, and I burst out crying at random times (one of those I was at church, haha). Seriously, I was a step away from therapy. LOL! I’ve never been so affected by a book before. No matter how one tries put it, it was not precisely a happy ending.
No, you’re right! That was a bad choice of words on my part. He wasn’t what she needed to be happy at that point though. I also believe they became close again. They are family in my eyes, no matter what. I’m happy that she got the happiest ending she could after the way things went down!
And oh my god, I was so emotionally invested, I cried randomly too! The movies will be a serious rollercoaster for me to see it all actually happen. Yikes. But I so can’t wait. And I need to reread them again. I’m still not over Finnick dying. Still.
We need a Book Club. LOL!
what is in his breast pocket? it looks like a bottle but I can’t be sure. It’s been a while since I read the books so maybe I’ve forgotten something.
