‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Releases A New Promo Image Of Effie Trinket

Last week we got to see the first two promo posters for the upcoming sequel film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (HERE and HERE). Today, we get to see a new promo image of one of the film’s most flamboyant characters … Ms. Effie Trinket (played by Elizabeth Banks). As the promo push for Catching Fire gets underway, the studio has launched a Facebook app that will provide “official Capitol portraits” of the main characters in Catching Fire and today releases the first portrait … of Effie Trinket. Effie Trinket Head to heel in couture, Effie enchants in an exploding silhouette of chiffon and organza blooms. Never one to waver in her fashionable footwear, her heel-less boots are shod with a golden horse-shoe platform.

Altho Effie looks a bit like the pink-haired lady from the British TV Series Are You Being Served?, I do think this Capitol portrait is pretty neat. I love how the promo materials for the Hunger Games movies attempt to bring fans into the world of The Hunger Games. It looks like the Capitol portraits will be released at regular intervals in the coming weeks so we should expect to see many of our favorite characters featured … including characters we’ve yet to meet in movieform. As always, featuring Effie Trinket is a great way to dive back into world of The Hunger Games … I can’t wait to see which characters will get the Capitol portrait treatment next.
