Mariah Carey has revealed that she’s hoping to release her new album “ASAP”. The singer is currently working on the follow-up to 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and has been collaborating with producers all over the world. “I’m really working hard,” Carey told Ryan Seacrest after being asked when fans can expect to hear new material. The star went on to joke that longtime collaborator and fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson hasn’t shown an interest in the project. “Randy, he hasn’t even been in the studio in, like, months to hear what I have,” she revealed. “He doesn’t know every detail of this because I’ve been working with a bunch of people in secret locations.”
I am ALL for the ASAP release of Mariah‘s new album. I love that she’s all excited but nothing that I’m hearing in this interview leads me to believe that she is even close to dropping a new album of songs. I really do hope we get a new Mimi album this year and I’m hopeful we will due to her excitement level but … it’s prolly a good idea for me to not get all amped up for a new album anytime soon.
