After I enjoyed my first (of many, many many) nap on my NEW COUCH yesterday afternoon, I decided to get out of the house and do a bit of shopping. I wasn’t really looking for anything, I was just looking. While I was out, my friend Josh suggested that we meet up for dinner. He wanted to go dancing but because I promised to hang out with Ollie in DTLA for a bit, we decided to meet later in the night at Akbar. Man, it had been a couple of YEARS since I’ve been dancing at Akbar but we ended up having a pretty fun time.

After I enjoyed a beer with Ollie at this fun new DTLA bar called Ham and Eggs Tavern, I met up with Josh at Akbar. The place was as crowded as ever, the DJ was as terrible as ever and the jukebox was as awesome as ever. That place never changes. I met a lovely straight girl who, first, complimented me on my outfit and then proceeded to tell me that she showed up thinking Akbar was a Middle Eastern restaurant. LOL. She didn’t seem too disappointed because she and her gay friend spent all night dancing to the bad music. I honestly don’t understand why the DJs at Akbar are always so bad. Just play a pop song … not an extended remix, not the underground house dub that goes on for 25 minutes … play the damn song, then play another one … trust me, it works.
Wonder of wonders, we actually stayed out pretty late … and I may go out dancing again tonight. I’ve been in a City Club mood lately and since I’m not home in Detroit, I may have to venture out and check out the goth/industrial scene here in LA once again. We shall see.
I hope you are having a great Saturday, Happy Weekend!

“…play the damn song, then play another one … trust me, it works.” – hahaha! Thanks for the laugh Trent. :) I wish more Dj’s would listen to this advice.
LOL Diana my thoughts exactly! Trent you look great! Going out dancing sounds fun right about now…may have to take a page from your book!
