‘The Muppets . . . Again!’ Will Reportedly Feature The Wedding Of Miss Piggy

Last month we got a double dose of Muppets movie news when we learned first that Tina Fey would likely be featured in the upcoming sequel The Muppets … Again! and then we learned that the first promo photo from the film was out. Today we learn that a major plot point of the film might center on the wedding of Miss Piggy. HMMMM. Now, we Muppets fans know that Piggy has been in a romantic relationship with Kermit the Frog since forever so it’s very likely that he will end up being the groom … right? HMMM. Click below to learn more about this latest Muppets movie rumor.

Apparently “The Muppets… Again!” will not only follow Kermit and co.’s adventure in Europe, but it will also feature a big wedding from one of the most-beloved characters in the puppet film franchise. Latest report suggests that the upcoming comedy film will see Miss Piggy walking down the aisle. Rumor of Miss Piggy’s wedding sparked quickly after production designer Eve Stewart let it slip at the 2013 BAFTA Awards on Monday, February 11 local time. Stewart said that she’s working on something that was “really the antithesis” of her previous work in “Les Miserables”. “I’m now at Pinewood doing the Muppet show, and today has been one of the best days of my life, designing Miss Piggy’s wedding at the Tower of London,” Stewart told BBC’s The Film Programme. When asked if she’s allowed to reveal the scoop, the designer responded, “Yes! I’ve never been so happy.” Miss Piggy’s relationship with Kermit became a highlight in the 2011 “The Muppets”. She was jilted at the altar by her amphibian lover and that almost kept her from taking part in the effort to save the Muppet Studios. It is, however, still unknown whether she will really end up getting hitched with Kermit or not in the follow-up film. “The Muppets… Again!” will follow the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. However, mayhem follows the Muppets overseas as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine – the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit – and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, a.k.a Number Two. Starring Ty Burrell, Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ray Liotta among others, the sequel film will bring back James Bobin to the directing seat. He also co-writes the script along with Nicholas Stoller. Disney will release the family flick Stateside on March 21, 2014.

I mean … Piggy and Kermit have been carrying on this long, drawn out, dramatic affair for DECADES now, isn’t it about time they got married? It makes sense that a wedding might be plot point … BUT, just because Miss Piggy is getting a wedding dress it does NOT mean she will actually get married. I mean … if she does marry Kermit her name will change from Miss Piggy to Mrs. the Frog. I’m not sure she would ever be OK with that. We still have OVER A YEAR to wait for The Muppets … Again! to hit theaters so it might be a tad early to freak out over the movie plot but … it does give us something to think about. Do you think it’s time for Piggy and Kermit to settle down and have tadpigs?

Maybe she isn’t marrying Kermit. Maybe they’ve changed and grown apart. She has other options you know. Stop trying to force her to conform to what society wants!!!!

    • @janaegal — LOL

  • Malia

They already got married, in the “Muppet’s Take Manhattan”! Piggy switched Fozzie (who was supposed to play the reverend) with an actual minister and surprised Kermit!

    • Hannah

Yeah, I always thought they were married.

Renewing their vows as they had been living apart in the last movie?

    • Krissy

I saw that movie again last year, and it was so odd. I must have seen it when I was really little, because it was like I remembered all of it and none of it. I knew the lyrics to the songs but I didn’t remember hearing them before!

      Mama Dada Boop Boop Chiuaua!

Whew! Trent I was about to come in here and call BLASPHEME on the whole movie if Kermie wasn’t the groom…lol.. you scared me with that teaser post on the home page. lol

Why can’t Miss Piggy count to 70?

Every time she gets to 69 she gets a frog in her throat.
