Okay, I know this isn’t funny. I know it’s wrong to assault anybody with… anything. But when Lil Wayne announced his retirement from rap, and said that he wanted to focus on skateboarding… I shoulda known there would be an ‘assualt by skateboard‘ headline in his future. LMAO! I keeed, I keeed! I love Weezy; y’all know that. But this ish is cray. Lil Wayne is being sued by a fan who claims one of Weezy‘s people hit him over the head with a skateboard on the streets of Los Angeles. Click inside for deets, y’all.
TMZ has the story:
Skateboards are really REALLY dangerous … so says a Lil Wayne fan who claims one of the rapper’s goons grabbed one and bashed him in the head with it back in May … and now the fan is suing.
The man on the receiving end of the attack is Alfredo Marino – who claims he spotted Weezy on the streets of L.A. last year and tried to take a photo.
But according to Marino’s lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court by attorney Craig Chisvin, a man who works for Wayne grabbed a skateboard and clubbed him in the back of the head.
Marino claims he suffered a severe injury to his melon from the incident — and is pointing the finger at Wayne and Wayne’s record label because he believes they were responsible for enabling the attacker.
Marino is suing for unspecified damages. Calls to Wayne’s camp have not been returned.
Yo. This is sooo messed… but so funny! And yet, not. It’s not funny. It’s just that, when Weezy was recording Tha Block Is Hot, there’s no way you could’ve convinced him that one day he’d be sued for being party to a skateboard attack. Like, nobody saw this coming back in ’99, lmao!
Unfortunately, we hear so many stories about celebrities getting sued over ridiculousness (i.e. when Justin Bieber got sued because his concert was too noisy), it’s hard to separate the real from the fake. But if Marino really did get hurt, of course I hope the culprit is brought to justice. No one deserves to be hit with a skateboard. No one.
