Confirmed! Britney Spears Seals The Deal For A Las Vegas Residency!!!

Over the weekend, our dear Britney Spears kinda sorta hinted that she was going to Las Vegas to perform a residency of shows … today we LEARN OFFICIALLY from her longtime manager Larry Rudolph that the DEAL IS SET! BRITNEY IS GOING TO VEGAS! OMFG THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

“Extra” can exclusively confirm that Britney Spears is definitely heading to Las Vegas for a new show. Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, told “Extra” that the Sin City show is set, with a choice between two casinos, one of which is part of Caesars Entertainment Group. The deal will be finalized once Britney’s team decides on the casino. The pop star has been in negotiations for several months to set up shop in Las Vegas. A formal announcement is expected in the next few weeks.

UPDATE: “Extra” just received a statement from Larry Rudolph, “We are in deep negotiations and I’d be shocked if it didn’t happen. Hoping to have a deal done very soon.”

Looks I will finally be making my first trip to Vegas!!! I’ve gotta see her!!!

  • jb

Hmm, I don’t know about this. Will people pay that much money for her lip-sync performance? Well, obviously judging by her tours but will people come to Las Vegas for her?

    • helen

@jb – well now that you put it that way…. HELL YESSSSS!!!! Are you kidding??!!! I AM SO THERE!!!!

    • JeniLee

I agree jb. I think all her fans will sell out the shows for a couple months, then it will be a flop. It’s no secret that her performances nowadays are lackluster – every tv performance and tour video from Femme Fatale I saw she just stands around, then walks a bit, and moves her arms. She doesn’t perform the way she used to which completely makes the lip synching have no purpose. I can’t see people paying good money for this

    • @JeniLee — “It’s no secret that her performances nowadays are lackluster”

While I understand that I cannot be the most neutral person on this matter, I completely disagree that “her performances nowadays are lackluster”. I saw her three times on her FF tour (not including the dress rehearsal performance) and I LOVED the show each time. Basically, it comes down to personal opinion. Folks who haven’t seen the show but judge based on photos and videos cherry-picked to prove a point are going to have an opinion much different from those who folks who have seen the performances in person, in full. Of course we won’t know how this residency will turn out but for years now, naysayers have been counting Britney out at every single turn and yet, she has managed to reach new heights of success all along the way. I’ve come to not only expect the criticism but welcome it … it appears the more people try to count her out, the better she does in the end :D

Lol. You’re right Trent. You can’t be neutral. One of my friends is a die hard fan and even he who has seen every Britney tour, admitted that FF tour wasn’t worth it and she is now lifeless when she performs. He used to defend her just as much as you do, but he is now at the point that he admits the FF tour was blah, and that she was blah on the X Factor. She doesn’t have the spark she used to have, most likely due to whatever psychotic medication she is on. I mean you watch her dance on the ITZ and out all Night special, then watch her performing HIAM and TTWE on her release night – there’s no comparison between the two!

    • Taeylor

I did pick videos or pictures. I watched the Tour live and I Brit just seems so roboic now. There is not feeling in her dancing. Which for me is sad, cause I ADORED FEMME FATALE. My favorite Cd of hers to date. Mabye though if she gets in a permanent place she will lossened up. I also watched the TOUR she approved for the DVD release and it dissapointed me as much as the live show. I reall wish I could enjoy her show….but I just can’t anymore. It’s like Warren made BRITNEYBOT and she now is in control. Agan I adore her and her music….Maybe next time will be better for e.

    • JeniLeeSK8

I have to agree with you jb. I have loved britney since Baby One More Time, however her performance caliber has severely declined over the past few years. All her tv performances, plus all the tour videos from Femme Fatale I watched, she stood around, moved her arms a bit, and walked across the stage. She doesn’t dance like she used to which makes her lip synching pointless. I can see the hardcore Britney fans selling out all the shows for the first few months, but after that, when it is just average Vegas visitors and residents who have the opportunity to go, I can’t see people paying their hard earned money for this show. It’s not worth it anymore. I’m a Britney fan and even I didn’t go to the Femme Fatale tour because I knew it was a waste of my money.

I am going to Vegas baby! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
