Rihanna Will Perform At The Grammy Awards With Bruno Mars And Sting

Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, And Others Set To Hit The Stage

Well, we’ve had the Golden Globe Awards and the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, but before we get to the Oscars, we gotta gear up for the biggest night in music! The 2013 Grammy Awards are this Sunday and I’m definitely, definitely psyched. Last night’s Super Bowl Half Time performance is all anyone’s really been able to talk about (well, that and Alicia Keys‘s beautiful rendition of the National Anthem), but I think we can expect some pretty epic things on the Grammy stage this year. We’ve just learned that Rihanna will be performing with Bruno Mars and Sting, and we’ve also got a list of equally awesome, additional performers inside!

Complex has the story:

It was announced last night that Rihanna will be performing alongside Bruno Mars and Sting at the upcoming 55 Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday… a formal press release was sent out earlier today announcing the unexpected trio performance.

Rihanna is nominated for three Grammys including Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Talk That Talk f/ Jay-Z” as well as Best Pop Solo Performance for “Where Have You Been” and Best Short Form Music Video for “We Found Love f/ Calvin Harris.” Mars is up for Best Rap Song for “Young, Wild & Free” along with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.

This adds yet another huge name on the already-stacked list of performances. So far, the following performances have been announced:

  • Frank Ocean
  • Justin Timberlake
  • The Black Keys
  • FUN.
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • The Lumineers
  • Mumford & Sons
  • Taylor Swift
  • Carrie Underwood
  • Jack White
  • Elton John and Ed Sheeran
  • Alicia Keys
  • Maroon 5
  • Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert

Additional performers will be announced soon, according to the press release. The Grammys will air live on Sunday on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

While I’m not a huge fan of Bruno Mars (in fact,  lemme keep it real… I’m not a fan at all, lol), I’m excited for this performance! I can’t imagine what song they might be singing, but I’m definitely interested. And obviously, I’m excited to see Frank Ocean hit the stage, along with Alicia, JT, The Black Keys, and, well, pretty much everyone. This looks like a fun show and we don’t even have the complete lineup yet.

What do y’all think? Does it look like this year’s Grammy‘s will be a good time?

  1. I pray to the godesses that someone will have the foresight to put superglue on the chairs for Chris Brown and Kanye.

  2. Justin Timberlake…Performing…At the GRAMMY’S?!!!!!!
My day, no, my year, no, MY LIFE, has been made!

  3. seems like a good line up. i would prefer Bruno solo though. and i thought Rihanna was suppose to be singing with Brown?

  4. JCZ

Shannon, what is this anti-Bruno Mars attitude you speak of? I’d like you to explain.

But for real, what’s there to hate? The thing I like about him is that he has crafted that solo male singer success without the shirtless antics of the Ushers and JT’s and used his songwriting/producing skills to own the charts.

    • Alecia

JT doesn’t use shirtless antics. But I agree that Bruno Mars is awesome!

    • JCZ, I don’t exactly hate on Bruno Mars, I’m just not a fan. Not sure what it is, but his style and vibe just don’t pull me in! I get that he’s crazy talented and everything, I’ve just never been into him, into him (although, of course, I do know and like some of his singles).

  5. Most excited for JT and Kelly… but it should be a good time. My friend & I are having a little party (little in the sense that it will just be the two of us there).

  6. It’d be a great line up if Rihanna wasn’t in it…. I just can’t get into her voice.

  7. Lauren

    SO excited for Ed Sheeran!

  8. FLORENCE PLEASE

… as long as Rihanna doesn’t get a ride to the Grammys with CB she should make it safely.
(Sorry, crass comment, but she just annoys me to no end, her recent decision to get back with CB and telling us he’s changed is at the top of my list.)
