Well, we’ve had the Golden Globe Awards and the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, but before we get to the Oscars, we gotta gear up for the biggest night in music! The 2013 Grammy Awards are this Sunday and I’m definitely, definitely psyched. Last night’s Super Bowl Half Time performance is all anyone’s really been able to talk about (well, that and Alicia Keys’s beautiful rendition of the National Anthem), but I think we can expect some pretty epic things on the Grammy stage this year. We’ve just learned that Rihanna will be performing with Bruno Mars and Sting, and we’ve also got a list of equally awesome, additional performers inside!
Complex has the story:
It was announced last night that Rihanna will be performing alongside Bruno Mars and Sting at the upcoming 55 Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday… a formal press release was sent out earlier today announcing the unexpected trio performance.
Rihanna is nominated for three Grammys including Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Talk That Talk f/ Jay-Z” as well as Best Pop Solo Performance for “Where Have You Been” and Best Short Form Music Video for “We Found Love f/ Calvin Harris.” Mars is up for Best Rap Song for “Young, Wild & Free” along with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.
This adds yet another huge name on the already-stacked list of performances. So far, the following performances have been announced:
- Frank Ocean
- Justin Timberlake
- The Black Keys
- Kelly Clarkson
- The Lumineers
- Mumford & Sons
- Taylor Swift
- Carrie Underwood
- Jack White
- Elton John and Ed Sheeran
- Alicia Keys
- Maroon 5
- Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert
Additional performers will be announced soon, according to the press release. The Grammys will air live on Sunday on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m.
While I’m not a huge fan of Bruno Mars (in fact, lemme keep it real… I’m not a fan at all, lol), I’m excited for this performance! I can’t imagine what song they might be singing, but I’m definitely interested. And obviously, I’m excited to see Frank Ocean hit the stage, along with Alicia, JT, The Black Keys, and, well, pretty much everyone. This looks like a fun show and we don’t even have the complete lineup yet.
What do y’all think? Does it look like this year’s Grammy’s will be a good time?0
