So, I have some awesome news for my fellow Revengers! A little while back we saw a new movie trailer featuring Josh Bowman and Miley Cyrus, but it looks like he’s not the only Revenge star to head to the big screen. Reports are stating that the lead of the hit ABC series, our girl Emily VanCamp, just beat out some serious heavy-hitters for the lead female role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Niiice! Click inside to learn more!
Complex has the story:
Deadline is reporting that Revenge star Emily Van Camp has landed the lead female role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Van Camp reportedly beat out Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Kendrick, Community‘s Alison Brie, and Downton Abbey‘s Jessica Brown Findlay.
As we reported earlier, Marvel Studios hasn’t released a character name yet, but it’s probably Sharon Carter, a fixture in the Captain America comic books.
Filming hasn’t started yet, but the release date remains April 4, 2014. Chris Evans will be reprising his role as the eponymous hero following a successful turn in The Avengers; Scarlett Johansson is also returning as Black Widow. Still, there’s no official announcement regarding casting.
Okay, so it’s not official, official yet– but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited! Aghhhh! ‘Emily‘s doing big things! And although this isn’t her first movie role, this is the first blockbuster-type film for her, so I’m pumped.
What do you guys think of the news? Y’all know I’m not the comic expert around here, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one. If Emily is indeed playing Sharon Carter, do you see her rocking this role?
