Jason Momoa Covers ‘Men’s Health’ Magazine

"I love carbs"

Former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Health magazine. In his coverstory interview, Jason reveals what it takes for a man of his beefy stature to get as beefily statured as he does. His accompanying photospread features the actor fully clothed (boo) but throwing some really cool, many punch poses (yay?) AND he shows off his new short hair’do. In 2011 he made people pay attention when he took on the role which made Arnold Schwarzenegger a household name. And making his mark on the industry, Jason Momoa has opened up about the methods he uses to ensure he stays in the best shape as the demand for him in the industry increases. Covering the March issue of Men’s Health, the 33-year-old actor, and model, surprisingly revealed that he’s not a big fan of doing weights or sticking to diets. Speaking about the dietary requirements for his built physique, Jason admitted that he’s not keen on eating food which weigh him down and has a thing for ‘cigars and booze’. The Hawaii-born star professed: ‘You need to eat big and lift big. But I prefer to eat as much lean meat and green veg as possible and save the calories for Guinness. It keeps you sane. ‘I love carbs but denial is good training for the mind. After finishing a one-month cleanse, I had a giant bowl of pasta and I swear to Christ it was like I was on heroin.’ Revealing his guilty pleasures, Jason added: ‘I love cigars and booze. If you’re going to pound the beers you’ve got to suck it up. It [the treadmill] gets you going, man. Then you can have that beer.’ In the shots taken for the popular men’s magazine, Jason puts his muscular frame on display in a fitted grey T-shirt and a pair of dark jeans. Showcasing his freshly chopped brown hair, as the handsomely rugged actor threw punches at the camera he lived up to his tough guy image.

Sigh, can you believe that Lisa Bonet gets to enjoy this hunk of man meat whenever she likes? Blah, life is not fair sometimes. As luck would have it, I recently subscribed to the digital version of Men’s Health magazine so I can at least look at these photos whenever I like … in stunning high resolution. I mean, it’s not the same as enjoying the real thing but at this point, I’ll take what I can get. Le sigh.

He looks so different. I think he should always wear the clothes that he does in Game of Thrones season 1. [Sigh]

  2. he could get it a hundred different ways, 24/7.

  3. It is so funny how people’s body’s evolve. He was way skinny in his teenage years!

  4. Ace

Did you and David break up?

  5. You know this is all well and good but Jason Momoa has always been in top shape even when he was back in Baywatch 15/20 years ago. So what’s all the excitement now?

  6. All I have to say is Lisa Bonet is one lucky mofo!!! I hope Arnold casts him in the Conan movie. I heard it will be him as the older conan where he was on the throne in “Conan The Destroyer”. he can play his son and continue the series.

  7. I read on TMZ that he said he has sex to keep in shape..So I’m just putting it out there..If he ever needs a work-out partner, I guess I’ll volunteer..I mean..Lisa Bonet HAS to get sore at some point, right?

Unfortunately he is out of the next Conan project, which will be be King Conan. I’m a big Robert E. Howard fan and have been wanting to see a King Conan project for a while. Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to play Conan which ousts Momoa out. The King Conan storyline takes place after he is well established as king and follows the story of his final battles before he dies. The producers of the original Conan films had always wanted him back to play Conan since Conan the Destroyer, so I guess they got their wish. Which disappoints me, Momoa was perfect for Conan. He is the vision described in Howards work, not Schwarzenegger. But I guess we’re not going to get to see him reprise the role. :/
