Norah Jones Will Perform Her Song From The ‘Ted’ Soundtrack At The Oscars

Norah Jones is one of those artists that I should really be listening to more often. Every time I see her name somewhere, I’m all like, why aren’t you listening to more Norah Jones?! Well, that’s all gonna change, I promise! We recently learned that Mark Wahlberg and his co-star character Ted will be making an appearance at the Oscars, and now the Ted theme song will  be showcased as well. Nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Norah Jones will be performing her Oscar-nominated song from the Ted soundtrack at this year’s Academy Awards and I’m really excited to hear it live.  Click inside to learn more and to check out a sweet lil’ video for the song!

Norah Jones, Everybody Needs A Best Friend:

The Hollywood Reporter:

Norah Jones will perform the Best Original Song nominee “Everybody Needs a Best Friend” from Ted during the Oscars, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced Sunday.

The song has music by Walter Murphyand lyrics by Seth MacFarlane, and the performance will be the Grammy-winner Jones’ first at the Oscars.

“I had such a great time recording this song with Seth, and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar,” Jones said in a release.  “Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend is hosting, is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

MacFarlane will host the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 24 from the Dolby Theatre — formerly the Kodak Theatre — at the Hollywood and Highland complex in Hollywood, and will air live on ABC.

How cute was the video, right? I’m excited to see Norah’s performance… and even more excited about the YouTube vortex I’m about to get lost in. Come Away With Me and Don’t Know Why cannot be the only Norah Jones songs that I know!
