Watch: Sheryl Crow Comments On The Lance Armstrong Controversy

Singer Sheryl Crow, who famously dated Lance Armstrong in 2003 after he dumped his loving and loyal wife after his bout with cancer and during his illegal use of performance enhancing drugs, was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight and was asked to comment on the controversy and she gave a short, not very heartfelt answer. It’s hard to believe that she was no aware of her ex-fiancée’s wrongdoing back when she was dating him but I don’t expect we’ll ever know for sure what exactly she knew. I am not at all surprised that her answer was so generic but I guess you gotta give her props for saying anything at all.

Whether or not she knew at the time, we shouldn’t blame her for anything. I’ve been on quite a few sites where she’s being vehemently criticize for not speaking up.

Would you call the cops on your man, your wife, your loved one to say “hey, I think he’s a cheat and taking stuff” ?

And right now, so many years later, it’s none of her business anymore anyway.

I’m just happy to see a female celebrity whose forehead moves…

    • Krissy

I know! When I see a “real” face I am like, “Ooooh, Ahhhh!” I have actually started to really admire the look of a natural face on a woman, it tells me a lot about her.

    • Karen

Seriously. I saw Catherina Zeta-Jones on Letterman recently and LOVED her face because it totally moved. I mean she could make frown lines and everything! I thought it was GORGEOUS.

She then presented at Golden Globes or something shortly thereafter and it didn’t look to me like her face was moving that much. I don’t know if she got botox or if she just wasn’t that animated, but I was a little disappointed. When I saw her walk onto the stage, I was excited to see her mobile face again!

I honestly think expressive faces are beautiful.

  • Keith Howard

Why would she? She had some hot performance enhanced sex and then they broke up. What does it have to do with her?

    • @Keith Howard — “She had some hot performance enhanced sex and then they broke up”

Yikes! Thanks for the mental image ;)

  • Krissy

Does anyone really think that she would be able to tell your average professional cyclist’s training habits from illegal ones? I mean, how could a non-cyclist tell the difference between legal enhancements and vitamins, and non-legal…and that is assuming she was in “locker room” type situations when he was training.

I think they are demanding more than logically expected of her because she is a celeb, and it makes the story more salacious. Also…this is Entertainment Tonight. It isnt’ like she is sitting down with Barbara Walters for an indepth interview.

    • @Krissy — “Does anyone really think that she would be able to tell your average professional cyclist’s training habits from illegal ones?”

No but as his fiancée it stands to reason that he confessed to her that he was a cheater. It doesn’t really matter in the long run but I can absolutely understand the curiosity as to which people from his inner circle knew he was cheating. Remember when Lance was hanging out all the time with Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey? I’d like to know if they knew … I can’t help but be curious as to how much Lance’s friends knew that he was a scumbag lying cheater.

    • Krissy

You are right, I do understand the curiosity to a point. But at the same time, Lance is a long term liar. I don’t know if I would assume that he was completely honest with anyone in his life. It is possible, but I am not going to put his mistakes onto others unless there is some kind of proof.

    • @Krissy — Yes, you’re right. But it’s the What If that is driving people crazy now. The man is a sociopath!

    • emily

OMG Trent! I forgot about the days of Jake, Matthew and Lance! It was a summer filled with long bike rides and spandex shorts. You had lots of pictures if I remember :o)

    • @emily — Sigh … yes … the Three Amigos … now all of that has been tainted :/

But … for old times sake:
