Back in November, we got our first listen of Ashlee Simpson‘s new song Bat for a Heart. Today, we get to see the accompanying music video. While I am no fan AT ALL of the song, I have to say that the video is better than the song is … but that’s not saying much. I have seen a great many entertaining videos that are homemade … but this is not one of them. I am excited by the thought of more Ashlee music but … I can’t say I’m impressed with this first new track of hers released in years. As for the video, what do y’all think?
I love Ashlee. She’s a cool chick. This song and video aren’t her best, imo. She does manage to do a pretty decent Courtney Love impression, though, so that’s something, right?
I want so badly to like this song since Autobiography and I Am Me are two of my favorite albums but I’m just not loving it.

I like this song, not her best work but Im glad she´s back
It reminds me of Grimes, like a bad impersonation of her almost.
Weirdly, I like the music in the background, so if this was just the instrumental version I’d probably be loving it! But the whole ‘I’m gonna bang bang f*ck you up’ bit? It just smacks a bit of desperation and need to be cool.
This is like a senior year art/media project gone wrong… I’ll just add the word fuck, erratic dancing, a mask, and emo faces so it is dark and artsy, but oh with, ballet shoes and ballerina moves so that it is also classy. Blah… hate it. Sorry. :)
The last two seconds where she was smiling on the couch was the best part. Kudos to her for still being able to do the ballet moves from years ago. :)
