Last month we got to check out a really cool motion poster for the upcoming sequel (prequel?) film The Wolverine. Today, we get to see the newest promo image released for the film. As you can see below, actor Hugh Jackman is striking a very serious pose — adamantium claws extended — in, what I presume is, Tokyo, Japan. Naturally, out of context we can’t know for sure what is going on here … but my guess is that Wolverine is gettin’ ready to whip some samurai ass. Check out the pic below.
Last week, Entertainment Weekly debuted a new photo from Twentieth Century Fox Film’s The Wolverine and we’ve now received a high-quality version … Opening in theaters on July 26, the James Mangold-directed action adventure stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee. Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Despite the fact that I didn’t love the last Wolverine movie too much, I have high hopes that this new film will be worth seeing. The Wolverine will be one of a slew of superhero movies out this year, it remains to be seen how well it will fare against its competition. Anytime Hugh Jackman is playing a role that requires little clothing and bulging biceps, you can count on me to shell out the $13 for the price of admission :D
