Watch: Elle Fanning And Christina Hendricks Star In The New Indie Flick ‘Ginger & Rosa’

Set In 1960s London
Ginger & Rosa Take London

This role could turn out to be a really big deal for young actress Elle Fanning. In Ginger & Rosa she plays a teenage girl, coming into her own in 1960s London. The trailer looks really fantastic, and I can’t believe I haven’t seen more movies by this director! Sally Potter adapted one of my absolute favorite novels of all time, Virgina Woolf‘s Orlando, so I gotta start checking out her work.  Elle stars alongside Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks, Annette Bening, Alice Engert, and Oliver Platt. Peep the trailer for more!

Ginger & Rosa hits theatres in limited release this March.

This looks really good! I’m always kind of wary of movies with Americans playing English people, but her accent work sounds good in the trailer!

  2. Lexie

This reminds me an awful lot of An Education, which I found slightly disappointing. Hopefully this one has a bit more meat to it.

    • Lexie, agh! I’m so glad you said that. I thought of ‘An Education’ and I agree that it was kind of disappointing. But it also reminded me (a tiny bit) of Kate Winslet’s first movie ‘Heavenly Creatures,’ since it seems to focus on the friendship between the girls as well. But it already seems to have a more intense energy than ‘An Education’ so I have high hopes :)

  3. Compelling! Looks beautifully filmed and it has very pretty people in it. I hope it doesn’t fall flat. Some of these kinds of movies appear to be more interested in the movie project itself rather than in bringing the story to life. That kind of cinematic self-absorption equals boring to me. I am hopeful for this one.
