Earlier this week we got to see a clip from the new Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries and today we get to see star AnnaSophia Robb on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Teen Vogue magazine. Robb talks boys, NYC and Carrie Bradshaw in her coverstory interview but it’s her amazingly styled photospread that caught my eye. Carrie Bradshaw became a mythic fashion icon on SaTC … will her title carry over as a teen on The Carrie Diaries? If the photos below are any indication the, yes, it will.
On her fresh start in NYC: “I think I was made to live in New York… I love being able to walk everywhere. And there’s so much going on — I actually get a little nervous on the weekends, wondering what to do and who to hang out with… When I used to watch Gossip Girl or Sex and the City, I thought the things that happened were totally exaggerated. But then I got here and realized they’re not. That’s what it’s really like!… [T]oday, for example, I was walking through the park, and there was a guy playing a piano, absolutely beautifully, right in the middle of a plaza. That doesn’t happen in normal cities.”
On not forgetting her roots: “I loved high school. Everyone always asks me if the other kids treated me differently because of my career, but they didn’t. If you act weird, people are going to treat you weird, but if you’re just yourself, people respond to that.”
On how often guys hit on her: “Never… Everyone always says that guys are intimidated by me, but I seriously doubt it. I mean, I’m five-foot-nothing!”
As I’ve said before, I have high hopes that The Carrie Diaries will be a hit. I like what I’ve seen thus far so, I’m already a fan. I love this fashion spread in Teen Vogue. Because we know how Carrie Bradshaw turns out as an adult, I think it’ll be fun to see her find her fashion sense as a teen. I bet it’s a really fun job playing Carrie Bradshaw … I mean, the clothes alone. I’m crossing my fingers for this one … I’d love for everyone to fall back in love with Carrie and the city. 0
