Whitney Houston Has Passed Away At 48
OMG! NOOOOOO :(

No … NO! I am … in total shock. Just moments ago the Associated Press announced on Twitter that singer Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48. I absolutely did not believe it … no way. There are far too many death hoaxes on Twitter that I refused to believe it … but, I’m sad to say … the news is true. Whitney has died :(

Here is the AP tweet about Whitney‘s death:

TMZ has confirmed the news as true but there is, thus far, no information about the cause of death … they do clarify that she died this afternoon at the Beverly Hilton hotel:

Whitney Houston died this afternoon … a rep for the singer told the Associated Press. Paramedics were called to the Beverly Hilton today when Houston was found unresponsive in her hotel room … sources tell TMZ. We’re told police arrived to the scene within minutes and fire was already there on another call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM. Our sources say there were to signs of foul play. We’re told she was ID’ed by family and friends. The singer famously battled drug addiction for years. Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album “Whitney” was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums world wide. Houston holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Grambling State University in Louisiana. Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007. We spotted Whitney out just last weekend with on-again/off-again beau Ray-J

Whitney was spotted in the Beverly Hilton hotel lobby last night/earlier today and was set to attend Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammy party at the hotel tonight — where expected guests include Britney Spears, Cee Lo, David Guetta, Tom Hanks and others. And just this week we learned she was approached by The X Factor to become a judge.

Meanwhile Ray J, the singer (and Brandy‘s younger brother) who’s had an on-again off-again relationship with Whitney, was reported to have been the one who found her body but that seems to be a rumor and not true. Interestingly just this week in an interview he described their relationship as a “friendship … that’s my friend,” and refused to acknowledge there was a romance. He also described her condition as “great.”

I know Whitney was spotted at a pre-Grammy party on Thursday night and, well, every single report focused on how unwell she looked. As always, I just overlooked those reports as frivolous, unimportant information. At this point, we cannot be sure what the cause of death is but … I’m in shock — complete and utter shock!!! I am having a very hard time believing this … I am literally shaking as I type this. I’m just … heartbroken :(

I will do my best to update as more information is made available. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with Whitney‘s family, especially her daughter Bobbi Kristina.

Shock … in complete shock :(

Its was crazy hearing the news. Her voice was amazing, one in a million singers that come along. Bless her family and friends.

On saturday I was listening to a special by Kathy Griffin in which she tells a story about Whitney Houston. She confronted her backstage and telling Kathy to stop making fun of her. Another story was about that special with Whitney on the Oprah show, it made me laugh so hard.

Now I just found out, I can’t believe that Whitney Houston is dead. It seems like all the legends we don’t appreciate enough are leaving us. Look at MJ, Amy and now Whitney. We were making fun of them and now it’s too late to thank them for their beautiful music we enjoyed so much.

She was too young to go, I thought she was doing better, hopefully her dead is not drugs/alchohol related.

I wish her daughter Bobbi and family/friends all the best in the world.

An icon has left us, but her music will live forever!

RIP the world has lost an incredible talent. Her voice was a gift from God. Sad she couldn’t defeat her demons :(

I’m heartbroken. My two favorite entertainers (Whitney and MJ) are gone now, and I am kind of at a loss. Maybe it feels silly that I feel this way, but it’s so sad that these people are gone so soon. :( I was just watching The Bodyguard the other day and jamming to the music. I have almost all of Whitney’s movies and CDs…so I think I’m gonna have a Whitney day. Miss and love you, Whitney, our Queen of the Night.

I saw someone post the news on FB last night, and immediately came here because I knew you would post something Trent. Was it only a couple of years ago that you posted about Whitney’s newest music that made me so excited to hear her voice again? I know she had problems, and like so many others, it’s too bad that it looks like these struggles took her from us way too soon.

Where did she make a wrong turn. She was slated to marry inter-racial ( a white dude ) but her girl friends talked her into marrying within her own race. Bobby Brown, doofus, spender of the woman’s money, slow burn alleged murderer / killer of the once super star who rose out of clean gospel. She cool.. just snort a little.

it’s not simply the passing of a great music legend. those of us who grew up with her music, it seems we lost a part of our childhood as well. at least that’s how it feels for me.

I can relate banana. It feels like little pieces of my childhood died right along with MJ and now with Whitney.

      They were both uncomparable talents.
