Watch: Clint Eastwood Teams Up With Chrysler For A Fantastic Super Bowl XLVI Ad
"It's halftime In America"

Last year, Detroit’s own Eminem featured in a brilliantly touching Super Bowl television for Chrysler that highlighted the spirit of Detroit, MI. This year, the task of tugging at America’s heart strings was given to actor/director Clint Eastwood. Clint appeared in a Chrysler television ad at the halfway point of yesterday’s Super Bowl and managed to take the beautiful spirit of Detroit and apply it to the rest of the United States of America. Click below to watch Eastwood‘s Chrysler ad in full.

Some of you may know that Eastwood purposely chose to make his film Gran Torino on location in Detroit a few years ago … as soon as I heard his voice in this commercial yesterday, I knew he was doing it for Detroit. This was the Super Bowl commercial that made all of America fall silent as Eastwood spoke. This time around, Chrysler wasn’t speaking only of the heart and soul of Detroit but they were also speaking to heart and soul of America. I love Detroit very much. The city has been thru so much in recent years … but you can never count Detroit Rock City out. America, too, is enduring some tough economic times but the point of this commercial is that we must never lose faith in our ability to bounce back. Needless to say, this was my favorite Super Bowl commercial of the bunch. You may not know it but the Spirit of Detroit lives in us all :)

Funny how so many commericals can be irritating…and then one comes along that blows you away with its power. That was beautiful and moving. Could not have been done better.

I’m from Detroit and I heard a lot of people saying, it was boring, what does clint eastwood have to do with detroit, it was confusing, it didn’t make sense..
Those comments don’t make sense to me. Just like Krissy said, it was moving and inspirational. I love that chrysler is making a commercial that has meaning.

I had chills and almost brought to tears, then wanted to kick some ass at the end with Clint Eastwood’s last line impact..

THANK YOU CHRYSLER, THANK YOU CLINT EASTWOOD.
    THANK YOU DETROIT
