If the above embed does not work for you, try listening to the megamix HERE at the source. What do you think of Girl Gone Wild and Turn Up the Radio? Do you think by hearing snippets of these 3 songs that we have a good feel for what the whole M.D.N.A. album will sound like … and is that a good thing?

OMG OMG OMG,,,,,,,DYING DYING ….LONG LIVE THE ONE AND ONLY QUEEN
Remember when William Orbit was complaining about Britney retiring ’cause she’s not into it anymore and everyone said it’s ’cause he was sour about his songs not being used for the Britney project? ‘Girls Gone Wild’ sounds very Britney to me….I wonder if he just took those songs to Madonna.
I have to say after listening to these 3 songs, her voice doesn’t sound into it. Britney actually sounds more into her music than Madonna! I think as a recording artist, Brit has the passion these days, but live, not so much. That’s where Madonna will shine. She just sounds so, flat?
Not that Madonna seems like a ‘on your phone 24/7′ kinda person, it just sounds like her attention was somewhere else whilst recording these songs. To me, Give Me All Your Luvin’ isn’t that great, it may grow, but it will never be something like a Hung Up, a song that actually made a non-fan like me, like some of her music. I think I want to like it cause M.I.A. is on there, who does a pointless 2 lines anyway and also Minaj, who isn’t that relevant on the song either. Like most Pop Music, it’s about getting those names on their so people pay attention, and it’s working well I guess.
I don’t want another Ray of Light, but like a comment below says, she doesn’t make music that has meaning that much anymore. Working with the producers she’s working with, I expected a lot more, but it’s too early to judge the WHOLE album just yet.
Don’t care much about girls gone wild.
Turn up the radio sounds amazing though.
WHERE ARE HER EPIC SONGS? like frozen, ray of light, power of goodbye?
gd dammit madge, you’re making this difficult for me!
@lorili — Aren’t all of those songs on her album ‘Ray of Light’? I think you will find them there :)
so? haha . just brought those ones up cuz madonna kept mentioning how she is working with the same producer from ray of light, almost enticing us that its gonna sound EPPPIC. ray of light was pretty epic for her at that point in her career. it brought he back in a big way after she had lourdes.
i could go on and on about epic songs throughout her discography, including confessions.
Well after the sticky fiasco… This sounds good, it’s quite the same Martin Solveig has done in his own album but it’s OK to hear it in Madonna’s voice… Can’t wait for the rest of the album!
Haha! I agree.
Perhaps this sounds so good because Hard Candy was SO bad. LOL
I’m a huge Madonna fan and I remember trying hard to like that album but I just couldn’t…
I love it all! She is making good, FUN music. Does it have to be making some kind of statement other than just putting those that listen to it in a happy place for a while?
YES! she is madonna. the highest grossing femail artist. DO something productive than making ppl jus dance and bop around. she’s ALL about statements. thats why she’s so influential. she’s smarter than bubble gum pop.she is fortunate to have the power to influence for the good. and she does. except for the few times she doesn’t :P like hard candy. whatevz ill calm down. we haven’t heard the entire album.
I understand what you’re saying.
I also miss when she used to make pop songs which actually had a meaning in it.
Songs like “Live To tell”, “”Papa Don’t Preach”, “Express Yourself “,”Drowned World” is what I’m talking about.
My guess is that after American Life got such a bad reaction, she kind of got afraid of making “serious” pop music.
After Confessions and Hard Candy being kind of “mindless” pop albums, I also wished she would go back to a more serious tone for this album…
@Will – I have to disagree with you that ‘Confessions’ is mindless. It’s, IMHO, one of her top 5 albums.
trent! off topic, kinda, but how come ur not gonna write about MIAs new video? dontcha think she deserves more than being on top of lana del ray in ur summary? sad face. her new song and video is actually pretty cool. i love how maodnna has her on her song, its gonna help ppl warm up to her again after she “went crazy” as ppl said. however, i don’t think she went crazy…shes always been badass and brutally honest about the music industry and politics. she desires recognition. but i trust you’ll tlk about her when she does more! :D I’m excited for this years music.
female* clearly.
@Trent
Well, I also loved Confessions, but lyrically, that album was pretty mindless in my opinion.
Most of the songs didn’t have any message whatsoever, besides being catchy, fun songs.
And when I say “mindless” I meant “Mindless fun” which isn’t necessarily a bad thing :D
I
@Will, she had a lot of great “mindless” pop songs on Confessions, but she had a other songs with messages in them like “Forbidden Love” and “Isaac”
I have to wonder why you think songs need to have a message? When Mozart wrote his music, it was for total enjoyment for the listener. Surely all music is just about that. Why does there need to be some meaning behind every song?
really Let it will be? how High? Sorry? Liked or Not ? Meaningful? Check the definition in the dictionary…
What are you talking about???
In her interview blitz this week she keeps saying how she doesn’t want to repeat herself, great, she hasn’t but this megamix only shows how she’s repeating others. Not at all liking what I heard of “Girls Gone Wild”, really that’s what you name the song! At least be a little current,”Girls Lately” At least Turn Up The Radio sounds promising but can’t help thinking of “On The Radio” by the original, Donna Summer
I don’t care for lyrics. It’s the music behind the lyrics that counts just like Jazz and Classical. Madonna is doing her thing whether you like her or not. Leave her alone or shut the f up!
this is going to be one of those albums where..the beats are catchy..but the lyrics are crap.
Confession is FAR from mindless. That album is one of the best and my favorite Madonna album!
I think calling Confessions mindless is kind of quick to judge. It is easy to write dance pop off as being shallow, but many of the concepts and lyrics on that album really try to push the listener into introspection. That being said, I agree with Debho in that there is too much emphasis placed on the importance of a message. Sometimes the most amazing music is the kind that provides an escape from reality. There is room enough for all depths of music, and I think Madonna is one of the few lucky ones who’s career can afford her to make both!
This is so damn Bıınic!
