On Monday we got our FIRST lucious LOOK at David Beckham‘s new Super Bowl television commercial for his David Beckham Bodywear collection available exclusively at H&M stores worldwide. Today, Becks made an appearance at an H&M store in London, England to officially launch the David Beckham Bodywear collection in person. Click below to see some photos from today’s fun event.

His nickname has been Golden Balls for so long that even his wife sometimes calls him that. David Beckham took his accolade literally today as bronze statues of the world’s most attractive midfielder were unveiled at the H&M store in Regent Street in London. The 36-year-old was due to arrive at the shop at 4pm to launch his new line of affordable Bodywear but fans began queuing from as early as 10am to get a glimpse of the star. Ahead of the L.A Galaxy star arriving the crowd of mostly females were whipped into a frenzy as they waited for the footballer to turn up. The bronze statues of the million pound player were life size and captured every detail of the former Real Madrid star, including his infamous package. While fashion followers of Becks will not be able to purchase a pair of golden pants they can get close to their idol thanks to the statues. When David arrived at the flagship store earlier than planned the crowd went wild and rushed towards him for a chance to get pictures and autographs. The father-of-four looked great in casual jeans and a black leather jacket with a white T-shirt.He also accessorised the outfit with a large scarf adorned with a star design as he made his way into the store. David, who was carrying a large leather bag with him, made a quick change once inside the store and returned to the front of the store to greet everyone who had turned up. He kicked off the Bodywear launch by wearing a cream thick neck cardigan with a white collar shirt and jeans with brown shoes. Unfortunately he left the crowd severely disappointed when they realised that he was not going to be stripping off to model any of the underwear himself. As the Manchester United legend stood in the middle of the shop and posed for pictures he was surrounded by female fans who captured the moment on their mobile phones. The store filled up quickly with people trying to get a glimpse of one of the world’s most gorgeous men but David took it all in his stride as he smiled and walked past his admirers.

Sigh. Becks in the flesh? Dang, you better believe I would’ve been there if I had the chance. While it’s a bit of a shame that Becks didn’t actually model his undies in the flesh for all the folks who came out to see him, I think just being in the same room with him — breathing the same air — more than made up for his full-clothedness. I believe the David Beckham Bodywear collection goes on sale tomorrow at H&M stores all around the world. Will you be stepping out to buy Becks‘s undies tomorrow?
