Earlier this month we learned of testimony given in family court by Frances Bean Cobain against her mother Courtney Love that alleged that C. Love was so terrible a mother that she could no longer care for her daugther’s well-being. As you may recall, Frances‘s testimony included the claim that Courtney was responsible for the death of the family cat due to unfit living conditions. Today we are hearing from Courtney in response to that allegation. According to Love, it was a mountain lion that killed Frances‘s cat … not her unfitness to parent. Um, yeah.

Courtney Love has responded to allegations that she killed her daughter’s pet cat by insisting it was eaten by a mountain lion. According to TheFix.com, the Hole singer used her Twitter account @Cbabymichelle – a different handle to her other profile, @Courtney – to rage against claims made in the new ebook Courtney Comes Clean. The tome, which was written by author Maer Roshan, detailed court deposition documents from 2009 when Love’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, filed for a restraining order against her. The now 19-year-old alleged that her pet cat and dog had both died due to Love’s reckless behaviour, but the singer responded: “It was a mountain lion that killed Peabody!!” In a separate message, meanwhile, she voiced her displeasure at the book, writing: “I’m a kitty killer! Who puts such an unjudged piece of trash in a madman’s hands?” Love’s lawyer James Janowitz recently told the New York Post that the allegations made in the book were false and also claimed that they ooking to take legal action after the confidential documents were leaked. “For somebody to meddle in such private and personal matters is pretty reprehensible,” he said. “We can say that all of the statements made about [Love] relating to the court filings, her daughter and other personal matters is false” … Last year, meanwhile, Love reportedly signed a deal to pen her own memoir. It is thought that the book will “set the record straight” about her marriage to Nirvana late frontman Kurt Cobain, her career as a rock star and actress, and her relationships with other celebrities.

LOL! Despite the unfortunateness of Courtney‘s seeming unfitness as a parent, I can’t help but laugh sometimes at the ridiculous things that she says. Honestly, I would believe anything Frances Bean says about living with her mother. At least Frances is an adult now who can take care of herself … in the end, that is really all that matters.
