It’s been a little bit since our dear Britney Spears made a guest appearance on TV … as you may recall, in recent years Brit Brit made appearances on Glee and How I Met Your Mother. It would seem that Britney has got the itch to act again because she seems very interested in making a guest appearance on the ABC comedy series Modern Family. Britney innocently (on purpose?) tweeted her love for the show … and that love has inspired a grassroots campaign to try and get her to appear on the show! Read on to learn more.
Britney Spears’ television resume may contain at least one glaringly painful reality TV entry (“Britney & Kevin: Chaotic”), but she’s also appeared on a couple of comedies, “Glee” and “How I Met Your Mother,” playing herself in the first and a receptionist at a doctor’s office in the second. So what show does the recently engaged pop next want to appear on? The awards-darling comedy “Modern Family” of course. It all started with a simple tweet from the princess of pop. “I know everybody is excited about the Super Bowl, but I personally can’t wait to see the next episode of ‘Modern Family!’ Funniest show on TV,” she wrote on Tuesday. But the fire spread when “Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara retweeted Spears’ tweet. Then, Spears’ manager got fans riled up by writing “@BritneySpears on ‘Modern Family?’ What do you guys think?” Thus, the tag #GetBritneyOnModernFamily was born. “I would love to be on it!” Spears wrote after the tag took off in the Twitterverse. Nothing has been confirmed by Spears or ABC, of course, so as of right now it’s just a Twitter dream fueled by fans.
First, I have to say … YES, GET BRITNEY ON MODERN FAMILY. I don’t watch the show but I would DEFFO tune in to watch her on the show. Secondly, I must admit … I really don’t think Britney‘s original tweet was anything more than just fan love for the show. The fact that it has grown into something more is just a product of the crazy social media world we live in these days. Fans can pick up any scrap of anything and turn it into something BIG if they just try hard enough. Betty White got her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live after a fan decided he wanted her on the show and he started a Facebook profile to get the job done. At this very early stage of this … campaign … I think it’s far too soon to get excited about any upcoming Modern Family guest appearance. But, this thing could grow legs and we may be talking about our dear Britney on the show at some point down the line. I’m ALL for it … how about you?

That would be awesome! One of my all time favorite episodes of Will & Grace was the one when Britney guested as the Liberal Lesbian! Se was so effing funny!!!!

Lol you know her appearance on the show is already set up Britney said last year she wanted to act more and now she just randomly tweets about Modern Family, then 3 seconds later Adam asks the fans if they would want that then Sophia vergar’s retweets Britney, and then Modern Family’s official twitter tweets Britney.

If it were anyone else I might agree, but Britney doesn’t do anything work related that isn’t pre planned by her team.
It’s incredible how the internet works now a days where we(the fans) can get those who we admire jobs. I’m a Demi Lovato fan, and I remember all last year the Lovatics on Twitter kept making trending topics about getting Demi to work with Timbaland, and it finally happened. I’ll be surprised if this Brithey/MF collab DOESN’T happen.

Britney is a living legend and if the living legend wants to do TV, then she does TV and everyone who is jealous/pressed/peeved/annoyed/bitter will remain in the corner and deal with it, etc.
Modern Family is the funniest comedy sitcom on TV (in my opinion) It would be fun to see Britney in an ep. :)

I would rather see her on a single-camera filmed show than a multi-camera sitcom. I think she would perform better – even though I doubt her HIMYM episode was filmed in front of the live audience.
