Last week we got our first look at James Franco in costume as Hugh Hefner on the LA set of the biopic film Lovelace. As you may recall, we also got to see a couple photos of lead actress Amanda Seyfried on set as Linda Lovelace as well. Today we get to see a couple of new photos from the set … and as you can see below, Amanda has begun filming the more serious parts of the film. Linda Lovelace was a woman who was physically brutalized in life and as you can see below, Amanda‘s portrayal of that brutalization will be featured in the biopic film.

Filming scenes for her role as a porn star has so far involved showing a lot of skin. But Amanda Seyfried’s on set wardrobe got to grips with the grittier side of her character today. The actress, who stars in upcoming biopic Lovelace, was seen sporting fake bruises while shooting in Los Angeles. The In Time star, 26, was clearly in character as she held a sombre expression while displaying a large red bruise on her right cheek and surrounding her eye. And to add to the disconcerting look, Seyfried’s brunette locks were messy and flyaway, suggesting she had been filming a scene that shows her character in distress. She wore a long red patterned cardigan, a blue tank top, and some wide-leg jeans that evoked the Seventies era the film is set in. It was a far cry from last week, when the star was dressed in a crop top and short shorts, acting out more light-hearted scenes with a smile on her face. The upcoming drama tells the story of iconic porn star Linda Lovelace, played by Amanda Seyfried, who was abused by the porn industry and her husband before taking control of her life. And the bruises are likely to be for a scene demonstrating the violence Lovelace, who shot to fame with her 1972 adult porn movie Deep Throat, received from her husband Chuck Traynor. Lovelace claimed that Chuck had forced her to film Deep Throat at gunpoint, as well as beating her up many times and forcing to have sex with other men during their three-year marriage.
Oh man. I have to tell you, as much as I am looking forward to seeing this film, I am REALLY not at all looking forward to watching the fictionalized brutality that comes along with Linda Lovelace‘s tragic life story. That being said, the kind of brutality that Linda (and countless other women like her) endured should absolutely be brought into the public eye. Physical abuse like this happens all the time and very unfortunately, it is almost always kept a secret. I’m of the mind that if a film like this (or any other film that tackles the issue of domestic violence) can help just one person, then it’s a film worth seeing.

WOW…this reminds me of the transformation Charlize did for Monster! I hope this is a good movie, like you Trent, not looking forward to the physical abuse. But I think if this movie is made well, it will to bring to light the not so glam part of “adult entertainment”. I love Amanda Seyfried!
I like the fact that Amanda Seyfried basically stole the role from Lindsay (I know Lindsay’s movie “Inferno” is a completely different one though).
I remember when both of them starred in Mean Girls and Lindsay was the star back then.
Now Amanda is getting all the roles Lindsay wish she’d get.
How things changed….
I wonder how Lindsay feels about this :P
Lindsay is clueless. She probably thinks she has the part.
