It could be the scene in the next action thriller, but sadly it is not. Action star Jeremy Renner was involved in a bar fight in Phuket, Thailand, and he and his friend were attacked and stabbed. Ow!

Jeremy was holidaying in the southern hemisphere sun, enjoying a few late night drinks at a bar when a friend of his, a manager from one of the nearby resorts, dropped his glass on the floor. This sparked a fight between him and the pub owners, who became violent and stabbed him in the stomach! Police had to be called and the next morning the staff at the pub were arrested with attempted murder. This is serious!

You’ve gotta know who Jeremy is by now unless you’ve been living under a rock? He is relatively new on the scene and first became known in 2009 for his role in The Hurt Locker. But then he earned an Oscar nomination last year for his work in The Town. From Indie child he moved quickly to the big stuff – Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, The Bourne Legacy and The Avengers. You might not have known who he was 2 years ago, but now he starting to become a household name, and a total hottie!

I like this guy, he has said that he isn’t going to do another big movie for a while because he also loves the smaller, Indie stuff. Go Jeremy! Rumors were circulating for a while that he was going to be taking over from Tom Cruise and Matt Damon, who wanted to return to the roles that made them originally, but Jeremy wants to followup with some smaller films after his next one, Hansel and Gretel.

Jeremy is fine and luckily he got away with only minor injuries, but it could have been so much worse! His friend’s injuries are a lot worse and he is still in hospital, poor guy. I guess even action stars who always survive injury and attacks on the screen can get hurt in real life. Stay safe action hero and stay out of the thai pubs at 4am!
