Although I don’t follow politics as closely as I should, I love me some Hillary Clinton. She friggen ran for President, she inspired one of the coolest Tumblrs ever, and who can forget that one time she partied her ass off in Colombia? I can’t. And I was really saddened to learn that she was hospitalized yesterday for a blood clot, following a concussion she suffered earlier this month. Click inside to learn more.

People has the story:

Hillary Clinton has been hospitalized.

The Secretary of State was admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday after doctors found a blood clot during an exam related to the concussion she sufferedduring a fall earlier this month, CNN reports.

“Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion,” Philippe Reines, deputy assistant secretary of state, said Sunday. “They will determine if any further action is required.”

She’s being treated with anti-coagulants and is expected to be hospitalized for 48 hours so she can be monitored.

Clinton, 65, suffered a concussion when she passed out and fell in her Washington, D.C., home. Reports at the time said dehydration suffered after a trip the former first lady took to Europe was the cause of her fall.

Clinton, who was recently named one of Barbara Walters’s 10 most-fascinating people of 2012, plans to step down from her secretary post early next year.

Ugh. What a rough way to spend New Year’s Eve. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. Things are better when Hillary‘s up and at ‘em.

  1. Hope she feels better quickly. Scary stuff. But Hillary is tough, she won’t be down long!

  2. Ashley

The girl is doing way to much. I mean she is the most traveled Secretary of state ever!! She needs to rest and take care of herself. Let John Kerry take over her duties from now on or when he is confirmed anyway. She deserves some much needed rest.
