Jay-Z Is Working On The Score For ‘The Great Gatsby’

We’ve been having a lot of fun checking out the trailers for The Great Gatsby, and a lot of that fun can be attributed to the music. While Jay-Z’s gonna be plenty busy next year [presumably] being a godfather to Kanye’s forthcoming bundle of joy, he’ll also be working on the soundtrack for one of next year’s most anticipated movies. Which is pretty awesome news. Click inside to learn more!

Complex has the story:

Jay-Z continues to re-invent himself, as today it is being reported that the rapper is assisting with the score of the upcoming film The Great Gatsby. Word broke when the lead singer of The Bullitts tweeted that he and Hov would be doing the score for the movie.

It was also reported that back in April during filming of the movie director Baz Luhrmann blasted Jay’s music on set. The film will be in theatres on May 10, 2013.

Sounds like Baz Luhrman has good taste. But we kinda already knew that; a while back we heard that Prince and Lady Gaga were also contributing to the soundtrack.

Well, I was already pretty excited about this movie, so I guess they’re just gonna keep piling on the awesome! Hopefully we’ll get to hear some of the new music soon!
